Pandora now has a widget for iPhone and iPad

Pandora is still one of the most popular music streaming services out there. And for any listener who has been waiting for a widget so they can quickly jump right back into what they were listening to, the wait is finally over.

Confirmed today, Pandora‘s latest update to its iOS and iPadOS app now supports a widget. Like many other options out there, the new feature offers three different sizes –small, medium, large– so you can find the right option for your Home Screen setup.

If you go with the large option, you’ll be able to view and play up to 7 different most recently played pieces of content. That includes a song, artists, albums, playlists, stations, and even podcasts. You can see what the large widget looks like in the image just below.

The new widget is available beginning today for Pandora customers. To add it to your Home Screen on iOS, simply long-press on the Home Screen itself until the app icons and widgets start shaking, and you see the “+” symbol appear in the top-left corner of the screen. Tap that, scroll until you find the Pandora option, and then choose which size of widget you want to place on your phone. Finally, tap “Add Widget” and choose where to place it.

As you’d expect, since Apple doesn’t allow it, you can’t actually control music or podcast playback from the widget itself. It’s just a means to quickly jump back into something you were listening to.

You’ll need iOS 14/iPadOS 14 or newer to have access to the widget. And you’ll need to make sure you have the latest version of the Pandora app installed as well.

In semi-related news, Spotify decided to change things up, too. That streaming music company announced earlier today that it is changing the “Your Library” section within the app, making it more streamlined to find your content.
