Spotify announces a revamped ‘Your Library’ for a more streamlined way to find your content

Spotify changed the library experience for its listeners quite some time ago. However, the streaming service has just announced another major change that may be a more welcomed one.

Today, Spotify announced that it is redesigning “Your Library”, and that the new design is rolling out now for all mobile users. The company says that the new experience is designed to better streamline the discovery of your content, including your saved music and podcasts. Spotify‘s previous library made it potentially tedious when it came to organization and discoverability, but this new change may help with that.

The new library features several different important changes. That includes a new grid view, giving a more visual approach to the titles within. There are improved sorting options a well, including by recently played, alphabetically, or by creator name.

Here are the major bullet points, per Spotify’s announcement today:

  • A streamlined way to browse and search your entire collection—both music and podcasts—in one place.
  • New dynamic filters to help you browse that collection. Choose between album, artist, playlist, or podcast to see the audio you’ve saved that matches. Then, if you’re on the go, simply tap the Downloaded filter to view all your content available offline* at once.
  • Better sorting options. Choose between viewing your audio alphabetically, by recently played, or by creator name. Now that’s organized.
  • More control and easier access to what you listen to most. Choose up to four playlists, albums, or podcast shows to keep pinned for instant access so you can quickly dive back into that work playlist or sleep podcast. Simply swipe right on these items to see the “pin” option.
  • Use the new Grid view to sort through your liked content in a more visual way with large-tiled album, playlist, and podcast cover art.

Spotify reaffirms that the new Your Library is rolling out for all iOS and Android users over the course of the next week. So, if you’re a Spotify user, keep an eye out for the new library experience. And, once you get it, let us know down in the comments what you think of it.
