In this edition of our Apps of the Week roundup we have a guitar learning aide, a simplified ‘where am I’ app, and an app that helps you track and maximize your credit card rewards. And as always, we’ve selected two great new games for you to check out.
Fretboard Learning
Here is an app that essentially makes a game out of learning to play the guitar. It helps you learn the fretboard, train your musical ear, learn scales and practice over 500 chords. Now you’ll get to try things out for free, but most of the app sits behind a monthly subscription.
What’s My Hood?
As the name suggests, this app tells you what neighborhood you are currently in. And…that’s pretty much it. I can’t promise it will be useful, but I can promise it won’t be not useful. Full transparency, I’ve already used the website (same as app) three times since discovering it.
Card Curator
Do you know or have you ever heard of anyone that’s really into credit card rewards? They pile up free cash, airline miles and other perks and end up going on lavish vacations for free. This app aims to help you get into the game and track/maximize on your cards’ rewards.
Ancestors Legacy: Vikings
The sound of clashing swords and axes. The smell of burning buildings. The thrill of battle, and the glory of Valhalla. If that doesn’t get you excited for this game, I don’t know what will. This is an action/strategy game with advanced tactical gameplay, cinematic battle scenes, and more.
Cube Escape Collection
Looking for something a little less intense? Try Cube Escape Collection. In this classic point-and-click adventure you follow the path of Dale Vandermeer, a homicide detective, as he investigates the death of a woman in the mysterious world of Rusty Lake. Hey, that’s less intense than vikings.
