Certified refurbished 2020 MacBook Pro now available from Apple’s online store

Earlier this year, Apple refreshed the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro and if you’ve been wanting to pick one up, but prefer to save some money with certified refurbished models, the wait is over.

Apple is now selling the 2020 13.3-inch MacBook Pro as a certified refurbished model, which means you can order it directly from Apple’s online storefront. As is par for the course with the refurbished option, you’ll be saving some money compared to the cost of a brand new model, but not a lot of money. Apple’s site shows you’ll save up to $230 on select models, for instance. Prices for the refurbished models start at $1,099, and go all the way up to $2,209.00 depending on the model and specs you’re looking for.

And of course, you can expect the following from a refurbished Mac:

All refurbished Mac models are backed by a one-year warranty, have free delivery and returns, and also include:

  • Full functional testing, genuine Apple part replacements (if necessary), and a thorough cleaning
  • The original Operating System or a more recent version
  • All refurbished devices are repackaged in a brand new box with all accessories and cables

The new MacBook Pro has improved internals, but the biggest change in the model Apple introduced this year is the adoption of the scissor switch keyboard, a departure from the maligned butterfly keyboard Apple had been using for years. This keyboard offers far more travel and, at least so far, doesn’t appear to suffer the same hardware failures as Apple’s butterfly keyboard.

So if you’ve been waiting to get your hands on a new MacBook Pro and want to save a bit of money, a certified refurbished model is a solid option.

Do you think you’ll be picking up one of these refurbished MacBook Pro models? Or will you be waiting for Apple’s transition to its own silicon later this year before buying a new laptop?
