In this week’s episode of our Apps of the Week roundup, we have a beautiful sunset finder, a video chat platform with built-in card games, and an intuitive habit tracker. And as always, we’ve selected two great new games for you to check out.
Here is a nice little app for folks who appreciate a good sunset. While typical weather apps can tell you what time the sun is rising and setting, Helio can tell you if they are going to be beautiful or not. If it says 37% you can probably skip it, but if it says 80%, it might be worth checking out.
Missing game night with friends and family due to quarantine? Fun Apart is here to help. It’s essentially video chat with a card-playing element that allows you to play games like Uno, Go Fish, Spoons and War in real-time. The video is in HD and the calls can support up to 5 years at a time.
Leap Habit Tracker
Changing your behavior is one of the hardest things to do, so anytime I see a sharp-looking habit tracking app, I think it’s worth giving a shot. Whether you want to learn a new skill, quit a bad-habit or start up some healthy ones, if you don’t have a go-to habit tracker, Leap looks like a good one.
Arctic Rails is a calming puzzle game that will help you exercise your brain. It’s snowy and cold, your wagon is full of fire wood and you must find your way home. Swipe the blocks to solve the puzzle, and make it happen. There are 100+ unique levels, a relaxing soundtrack, and easy controls.
For something a little more intense, check out Trivia Royale. It’s a supersized trivia game with over 100,000 questions and answers, and 1,000 other contestants to take down. It also has customizable avatars that use face-tracking technology, so they can really come to life during live gameplay.
