Apple launches silicone and leather cases for the new iPhone SE

If you plan on getting a new iPhone SE (which goes up for pre-order on Friday!), you might want a new case to help protect the handset.

And if you happen to enjoy either Apple’s silicone or leather cases for its iPhone family, then you’ll probably be happy to hear that there are new options to choose from. Apple on Wednesday officially launched brand new silicone and leather cases for the 2020 iPhone SE, which range in color options.

You can check out each of the cases below, and I’ve included links to all of the options currently available. It’s worth noting that, with all of Apple’s retail stores closed (outside of China) that in-store pick-up won’t be an option. You can buy all of the cases right now, though, and with the fastest delivery you can have your new case by Friday, April 17 — a full week before you’ll have your phone! Free delivery will see your new case arrive on Monday, April 20.

So, let’s get to it:

iPhone SE (2nd generation) leather cases

These Apple-designed cases fit snugly over the curves of your iPhone without adding bulk. They’re made from specially tanned and finished European leather, so the outside feels soft to the touch and develops a natural patina over time. The machined aluminum buttons match the finish of your leather case, while a microfiber lining inside helps protect your iPhone. And you can keep it on all the time, even when you’re charging wirelessly.

Like every Apple-designed case, it undergoes thousands of hours of testing throughout the design and manufacturing process. So not only does it look great, it’s built to protect your iPhone from scratches and drops.

  • Midnight Blue – $45
  • Black – $45
  • (PRODUCT)RED – $45

iPhone SE (2nd generation) silicone cases

Designed by Apple to complement iPhone SE, the form of the silicone case fits snugly over the volume buttons, side button, and curves of your device without adding bulk. A soft microfiber lining on the inside helps protect your iPhone. On the outside, the silky, soft-touch finish of the silicone exterior feels great in your hand. And you can keep it on all the time, even when you’re charging wirelessly.

Like every Apple-designed case, it undergoes thousands of hours of testing throughout the design and manufacturing process. So not only does it look great, it’s built to protect your iPhone from scratches and drops.

  • Pink Sand – $35
  • White – $35
  • Black – $35

You might not be able to get your new iPhone SE on Friday, but having the case a little early isn’t a bad thing. It’s worth noting that Apple let The Verge know that the similar cases designed for the iPhone 8 will also fit the new iPhone SE. So if you happen to have a silicone or leather iPhone 8 case handy, you can just use that one if you don’t want to fork over money for a new one.

If you plan on picking up the new iPhone, do you also plan on putting it in a case? Will Apple’s leather or silicone case be your accessory of choice? Let us know in the comments below.
