iPad Pro size comparison: 11 vs. 12.9 inches (video)

The only notable difference between the iPad Pros is screen size. Apple’s made it easy to pick the model that suits your needs by limiting your choice to just two sizes: an eleven-inch display (2,388-by-1,668 resolution) and a 12.9-inch screen (2,732-by-2,048 resolution).

So, what’s the optimal iPad Pro size in 2020?

To answer that, be sure to watch our video showdown included right ahead. Our video editor Harris Craycraft discusses the usability differences between the eleven-inch iPad Pro and its 12.9-inch counterpart. Although the video was filmed right before Apple announced refreshed iPad Pro models for 2020, it hits all the right notes and remains very relevant.

If you like such video comparisons, be sure to also watch the video that we shared yesterday, seen below, in which Harris compares the original iPad Pro from 2015 to the latest and greatest model from 2020 (tl;dr: core features remain, but a lot’s changed since 2015).

Circling back to the size comparison video, I’ve always loved the 12.9-inch model better than the eleven-inch iPad Pro. In fact, I’ve preferred the 12.9-inch iPad Pro back when it was really unwieldy due to those huge bezels on the first-generation model.

I bought my 12.9-inch iPad Pro in 2018 and I’ve been in love with it ever since. I couldn’t be happier with it, really. At first, I thought it would be too massive for a mobile device, but with a nearly fullscreen design and Apple’s lover for thinness, it’s actually surprisingly compact, mobile and very easy to hold and operate in your hands.

Besides, it still runs smoothly like the first day I bought it. I’m loving the latest 2020 iPad Pros, of course, but I don’t think I’ll be getting one because the CPU hasn’t improved much and my “old” iPad Pro is still serving me well. What I’ll probably do is buy the new Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro when it releases in May to modernize my tablet computing, but that’s about it.

So, what’s your favorite iPad Pro size?
