This week’s edition of our Apps of the Week roundup features an app for combining several clips into a single video collage, a new weather app with a gorgeous UI, and an app to help you invest in stocks. And as always, we’ve selected two great new games for you to check out.
PopGrid is a new app that allows you to “tell the whole story” in a single social media post. Here’s how it works: capture up to 9 clips and the app will magically stick them together to form an awesome story that you can share anywhere. Think of it like Instgram’s Layout, but for videos. Perfect for putting together step-by-step cooking guides, gym workouts, vacation videos, and more. PopGrid is available for free.
Weather Hippie is a fun weather app that allows you to stay ahead of extreme weather conditions in your area. With the recent unpredictable weather conditions experienced across the country, Weather Hippie is your trusty buddy that will give you reliable, real-time weather updates and alerts. I know there are a ton of weather apps put there, but I really like the UI design in this one, and it uses Dark Sky’s super accurate weather data. If you’re interested at all in third party weather apps, check this one out. Weather Hippie is available for free.
Ever thought about investing in the stock market but weren’t sure how to get started? With as little as $5 you can build wealth for yourself or help someone you know create a better future using the Stockpile app. There are over 1,000 stocks to choose from, you can buy fractional shares of larger stocks, and best of all—there are no monthly fees. It’s just $0.99 per trade. Plus, you can gift shares of stock to friends and family, and even open up custodial accounts for kids, to teach them investing at an early age. Stockpile is available for free.
The Talos Principle
With the innovative tap-and-swipe control system that immediately feels natural, an engaging story and challenging puzzles The Talos Principle is a full-fledged game with over 20 hours of content and entertainment, be it a short challenge for the brain or an entire afternoon filled with exploration and excitement. To round the experience out – the combination of Metal API and the cutting-edge Serious Engine ensures jaw-dropping graphics and amazing performance. The Talos Principle is available for $5.
Into the Dead 2
Journey through the zombie apocalypse in a race to save your family. Arm yourself with an arsenal of powerful weapons and do whatever it takes to survive. Maim, mow down, and massacre the Dead – anything to keep moving! In a world where no one is safe, how far will you go to make it out alive? Into the Dead 2 from PikPok features an evolving story with multiple endings, upgradeable weapons and perks, varied gameplay, daily special events, and much more. Into the Dead 2 is available for free (with some IAPs).
