If true, it’s been quite a wait—As you know, Apple debuted its tablet back in 2010. How have we survived fourteen years without an official Calculator iPad app?

Be that as it may, MacRumors has learned that the iPhone maker will at long last bring a built-in Calculator app to all iPad models compatible with iPadOS 18.

Calculator joining the list of stock iPad apps may have some unintended consequences, like sherlocking third-party iPad calculators on the App Store.

The lack of a stock Calculator app on iPad has pushed many people to look into paid alternatives, such as PCalc, Calcbot and Soulver. But soon these apps may see their revenue drop beacuse there’s no competing with free and built-in.

Apple will preview iPadOS 18 alongside other software at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 10. The updates will be tested and perfected throughout the summer and released to the public this fall.

A revamped Calculator for Mac coming with macOS 15

Calculator for iPad has been routinely requested over the years, but stubborn Apple has refused to bring such a popular and helpful app to its line of tablets.

This version will reportedly support window resizing (as opposed to the current fixed-size Calculator in macOS), with the buttons and controls morphing from pill-shaped to circular.

The new Calculator Mac app reportedly integrates with the rumored Math Notes feature (said to bring mathematical notation to the Notes app on iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS 15). There may even be a dedicated option or button in the overhauled Calculator to quickly access your math notes.
