New MacBook unboxed early ahead of April 10 launch

Vietnamese site has posted an early unboxing of the new 12-inch MacBook, ahead of its April 10 launch. The unboxing, available to view on video, examines the body of the MacBook, new charger, and quick start guide that Apple is including for customers.

The MacBook shown on video doesn’t appear to be a working model, as it doesn’t boot into OS X. Still, it’s a good 7-minute overview of Apple’s thinnest notebook yet, set to offer a nice alternative to its other notebooks and iPad line.

Introduced in March, the MacBook (yes, just MacBook) features a 2304 x 1440 Retina display. It’s also extremely thin (13.1mm thick), weighs just two pounds, and features an all-new Force Click touchpad, which offers haptic feedback. It’s the first Apple notebook to include just one USB-C port.

The MacBook is shipping on April 10 priced at $1,299 for the baseline model, with a $1,599 model available with twice the storage and faster internals. Learn more about it here.
