Upcoming Dance Party game promises multiplayer fun on Apple TV

I've long thought that the Apple TV could make for a full-blown video game console. Between the set-top box, AirPlay, and Apple's line of iOS devices with built-in motion sensors, you basically have a Nintendo Wii—you just need developers to take advantage of it.

And nobody understands this better than the folks at Rolocule Games. The India-based app-maker released a game called 'Motion Tennis' last summer, and this year they're back with another innovative, motion-based game for iOS and Apple TV called Dance Party...

New photos of alleged iPhone 6 shell surface

A new set of photos has appeared online this weekend, showing off an alleged iPhone 6 shell. We've seen 1 or 2 similar components in the past, but these images give us—by far—the best look at the part, and the best indication of what the device could look like.

In terms of design, this shell appears to match the one we saw back in May almost detail for detail. Note the thick antenna breaks towards the top and bottom of the part, as well as the cutouts for the iSight camera, the round flash, and the rear-facing Apple logo...

Should you give up your jailbreak to upgrade to iOS 8 beta?

Since Apple seeded the inaugural beta of iOS 8 last week, we've been asked seemingly hundreds of times if the upgrade is worth giving up a jailbreak. As we all know, once you update past iOS 7.0.6 you lose the ability to jailbreak, and there's no way to downgrade.

Now, we already touched on this subject during last week's episode of Let's Talk Jailbreak, but given how popular the topic has been, we wanted to cover it in a post. It's not exactly the easiest question to answer, but I'm going to do my best to break down your options...

The best yoga apps

No more excuses. It’s time to get in shape both mentally and physically. One way to attack mind and body at once is through regular yoga sessions. If you think you are too tough for the balancing exercise, think again. Yoga has been known to kick the butts of even the strongest athletes.

You know you want to try it, even if it is in the privacy of your own home, so we've compiled a list of apps to help you get started.

iOS 8 and the future of jailbreaking

It seems to be a recurring topic every year when Apple unveils a new version of iOS: did iOS 5 just kill jailbreaking? Will jailbreaking survive iOS 6? What’s left to jailbreakers with iOS 7? Did iOS 8 just make jailbreaking irrelevant?

These are some legitimate questions to ask, especially in regards to the fact that Apple, as you would expect, always adds new features to iOS, making jailbreaking a little less appealing. At least that's how it looks on paper, because in reality, it’s not so clear.

A few major online publications have already chimed in about how iOS 8 is making jailbreaking pointless, usually with no real understanding of what jailbreaking truly is about. So I thought it’d be a good idea to lay down some balanced thoughts about iOS 8 and the future of jailbreaking...

Har.mo.ny sequel is more of the same, but better

Last October, we reviewed BoarderLeap’s relaxing minimalist puzzle game Har.mo.ny. The attractive, flat design and tranquil soundtrack makes it the perfect game for fans of simple action, complex puzzle challenges. The more you play, the more hooked you get.

Har.mo.ny 2 recently launched in the App Store and I can definitely say it is more of the same, but better. Instead of only one game mode, there are now seven. There are dozens of pleasing color palates, hundreds of levels, and new soundscapes to give you an enjoyable brain exercise at any time...

Patent troll VirnetX could win 1% of iPhone and iPad revenues

In March, U.S. District Judge for Eastern Texas Leonard Davis awarded patent holding firm VirnetX with an ongoing 0.98% royalty on iPhone and iPad revenues. Apple has been fighting vigorously to avoid that outcome, but its last-ditch efforts have been unsuccessful. On Friday, the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board denied a creative strategy that Apple used to challenge the patents…

iOS 8 internal settings reveal Control Center and Lock screen customization options

Apple introduced several user-facing features in iOS 8 earlier this week, but it appears that there could be more than meets the eye. iOS developer Hamza Sood has tweeted two screenshots that show iOS 8 internal settings for customizing Control Center. In particular, there are toggle switches for adding, removing or reordering the app shortcuts and toggles in Control Center. There is even an option to record the screen from the swipe-up menu…

WSJ profile describes Dr. Dre as a perfectionist, compares him to Steve Jobs

The Wall Street Journal has written a profile on Beats co-founder Dr. Dre titled "Apple's New Beat: What Steve Jobs and Dr. Dre have in Common." That headline may sound blasphemous to die-hard Apple fans, but the comparisons they draw are interesting.

Though Jimmy Iovine has done most of the talking since Apple acquired his Beats Electronics last month, Dr. Dre played an equally important role in the company's success. He's a workaholic and a perfectionist, with a disdain for deadlines and marketing research...

3 colorful iOS theme setups to check out

A few weeks ago, I shared three beautiful iOS theme setups for the iPhone. Judging by the amount of readers that left comments, including those that shared their own setups, I would say it was a resounding success. A few readers asked that we follow up with another similar post, so here we are with three more colorful iOS theme setups to go along with the summer season. The setups come from the /r/iOSthemes community on Reddit, and we've included the jailbreak tweaks and themes used where possible…
