iPhone 3GS Running Untethered Jailbreak on iOS 4.3.1 with Sn0wbreeze Beta [Video]

The Windows jailbreak tool, Sn0wbreeze, was recently updated to perform a tethered jailbreak on iOS 4.3.1. We told you about the newest beta release a couple days ago, and many of you have successfully been able to jailbreak your iPhone on 4.3.1.

The biggest downer with the current Sn0wbreeze beta is that it’s a tethered jailbreak, and we’ve recommended holding off on iOS 4.3.1 until an untethered solution is released from the Dev Team.

To our surprise, an iDB reader sent us a video of his iPhone 3GS running an untethered jailbreak after using the latest Sn0wbreeze 2.4b1…

New Video Shows Purported iOS 4.3.1 Untethered Jailbreak

It looks like an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1 might not take as long as people might have thought.

This new video shows off an iPod touch that’s running iOS 4.3.1 with an untethered jailbreak.

If you’re still unsure what the benefits of an untethered jailbreak are, check out this article.

Does this mean that the author will release a jailbreak tool themselves? Well, not exactly, but this is still great news for jailbreakers…

Sn0wbreeze Beta Updated to Jailbreak iOS 4.3.1 [Tethered]

iH8Sn0w has released Sn0wbreeze 2.4b1, and the Windows jailbreak tool will now jailbreak iOS 4.3.1. There’s already been a tethered jailbreak for 4.3.1 uncovered in PwnageTool, and both available jailbreaks are still tethered.

Sn0wbreeze is now the more stable option for jailbreak iOS 4.3.1, but there is still no untethered solution available. Jailbreak devs are working hard to release an official untethered jailbreak for the latest version of iOS, but there is no exact ETA set.

Sn0wBreeze 2.3 Beta 4 Released, Minor Bug Fixes

iH8Sn0w has pushed another update to his Windows jailbreak tool for iOS 4.3. Sn0wBreeze 2.3b4 adds some bug fixes and more baseband compatibility.

Sn0wBreeze 2.3 offers a tethered jailbreak solution for iOS 4.3, but the tool is still in beta. This means that stability is not guaranteed, and you should use it at your own risk…

Sn0wBreeze 2.3 Beta 2 Tethered iOS 4.3 Jailbreak Released

iH8sn0w has pushed another update to his Sn0wBreeze jailbreak solution for Windows. As the only current jailbreak tool for iOS 4.3, Sn0wBreeze 2.3 offers a tethered jailbreak for those unlucky enough to update their firmware to 4.3.

Sn0wBreeze 2.3b2 adds several improvements from the first beta, but nothing too significant. Sn0wBreeze 2.3 is still in beta, and iH8sn0w and team are working hard to create an untethered solution for the popular Windows jailbreak tool…

How to Jailbreak iOS 4.3 Using Sn0wBreeze 2.3 Beta

If you are one of the unlucky ones who upgraded to Apple’s new 4.3 and lost their jailbreak, listen up. Although i0n1c said he would be waiting for iOS 4.3.1 to come out, to release a jailbreak, iH8sn0w has decided to give us Sn0wbreeze 2.3 beta to tide us over.
So if you have an iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad or iP0d touch and are running 4.3, let me give you a simple tutorial on how to jailbreak with Sn0wbreeze…

Sn0wBreeze Jailbreak for iPhone 4.2.1 is Out

Looks like the main jailbreak devs talked to each other today to release their jailbreak tools altogether around the same time. About an hour after the Dev Team announced the release of their PwnageTool jailbreak for iPhone 4.2.1, and now iH8Sn0w is releasing Sn0wBreeze 2.2.

Just like PwnageTool, Sn0wBreeze is a jailbreak tool that allows you to update your iPhone to the latest firmware, and jailbreak while preserving your baseband and your ability to unlock…

Sn0wBreeze Source Code Goes Open Source

After releasing his Sn0wBreeze jailbreak for iOS 4.1, iH8Sn0w has decided to follow the steps of Chronic DevTeam and their GreenPois0n jailbreak by making SnowBreeze’s source code open source.

That means that anyone can download the source code to tweak it and hopefully make it better. I think this is particularly good for wannabe iPhone hackers. Downloading the source code will help you see how a jailbreak works behind the scene.

You can download SnowBreeze’s source code from Github.

Sn0wBreeze Jailbreak for iOS 4.1 is Out

iH8Sn0w, the developer of Sn0wBreeze recently announced on Twitter that he had released an updated version to his infamous jailbreak tool. This new version of Sn0wBreeze supposedly works with every device on iOS 4.1, including the iPad iOS 3.2.2.

Sn0wBreeze is like PwnageTool for Windows. It allows you to create a custom firmware while preserving the baseband and hacktivating the phone, thus making it possible for you to unlock using UltraSn0w. But how reliable is Sn0wBreeze?

Sn0wBreeze 2 iOS 4.1 Jailbreak is Out

This is not the complete title I wanted to use for this post. I wanted to say something like “Sn0wBreeze is Out – Who Cares?” but I thought it would have been insulting to iH8Sn0w who probably spent hours working on this new jailbreak.

I’ve never been a big fan of non-official jailbreaks (and by this I mean not endorsed by the Dev Team) because they come with tons of restrictions, and in the end very few people can actually use the jailbreak. So what’s up with Sn0wBreeze?

iPhone 3GS Running iOS 4.2 Jailbroken with Sn0wBreeze

iH8Sn0w, the developer of Sn0wBreeze sent a tweet a few hours ago telling he had successfully jailbroken his iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) running iOS 4.2 beta. Apparently, Cydia, Icy or Rock won’t work though, which is kind of inconvenient and makes the jailbreak useless.

The point is he did manage to jailbreak the new beta release of iOS 4.2…
