iOS 9 Jailbreak Cydia

Saurik has “flipped the switch” in Cydia to allow purchases for device and OS-compatible jailbreak apps and tweaks for iOS 9. That means that any tweak that has been properly updated for iOS 9 can now be enabled for sale by Cydia developers.

While this is a definite first step to being able to have a normal Cydia experience with the iOS 9 jailbreak, developers will still have to update packages and enable their tweaks and apps for sale. In other words, you may find a handful of tweaks out there that can be properly purchased and downloaded, but it’s still going to take a while for developers to properly catch up.

We’ll be back over the coming weeks to present to you with curated lists of some of our favorite tweaks for iOS 9. In the meantime, though, it’s probably a good idea to familiarize yourself with the following resources:

Free tweaks, on the other hand, can already be downloaded and enjoyed right now, as long as they are certified to work with your device and are iOS 9 compatible. In fact, we’ve already covered several free tweaks thus far, including:

This is a just a taste, albeit a good one, of what’s to come. It’s an exciting time to be a part of the jailbreak community, especially with some of the upcoming tweaks that will take advantage of the new iPhone 6s hardware.

What do you think? Are there any tweaks right now that are on your must-have list?

All the tweaks I need to fully enjoy my iPhone are now compatible with iOS 9. There is not one that I absolutely have to have at the moment that I don’t already have. It is good to see that we can make purchases again though.

Guys working on jailbreak tweaks and jailbreak itself surprised me.

Just few days after jailbreak have become available, I am already using my favorite tweaks and jb seems very stable.

    • Damian

I am unable to get purchase in Cydia, for pretty much any tweak I want

      • Same here, the field to buy a tweak doesn’t appear on my phone (on any paid tweak)

      • Damian

Yeah to my understanding it works only for iOS 9 tweaks but I can’t find any new one and the old ones have not been updated

      • Well take Apex 2 as an example… It was recently updated with iOS 9 support, but it still doesn’t show the field to buy it. Nor do tweaks which aren’t updated yet like 3G Unrestrictor show a field that states that it can’t be bought. Is this just on my iPhone?

Frontflash doesn’t work 🙁 any other app similar to this one ?

    • ClaudieX X

looking the same… its the only thing left to turn my 6 to a 6S

      • Alexander Figueroa

        Lol same here

      • Alberto Espinal

There’s an app for that in the AppStore don’t remember the name though, I had it once!

I deleted my backups after restoring my iPhone, but before look if everything was ok… yes was very stupid, but someone know how to restore that backups? They dont appear even in the trash can 🙁

    • Chris

You can get software to restored deleted files but most cost money and I doubt they would be able to piece iOS backups back together anyway.

      • David Ruiz

I’ll give it a try, thanks!

      • Feivl

Try Chris Idea and than use sth like Wondershare Dr. Fone, you might be able to suck most of the data out of the restored backup, even if Itunes claims it’s broken. Good luck!

Install RECUVA on a different Hard Drive if possible… then recover trash can… and pray while it’s working

      • David Ruiz

        works :D! thanks man

      • ClaudieX X

        Great !!! 😀 You are welcome…

    • Jackson Grong

I tried restoring a deleted backup few months ago, hours with all kind of different software, never made it.
      Just a head-up.

  • Michael Wilson

I tried four times on a 6splus and it always ends up stuck at the apple logo, which is called the boot loop. Since iOS 9 takes so many steps to restor with Touch ID, iCloud, Apple Pay and Siri setup, even bypassing all these it takes time and I have to give up on the jailbreak until pangu/Saurik figure it out. Sad.

good to know! but first i have to get my photos app not crashing first…

  • Thomas Hopkins

For me, I see ‘taiG 8.1.3 – 8.4 untether’ in my updates list. whenever I update all, it doesn’t come up on the list nor does it install/upgrade. It is always there and it really annoys me. Is anyone else experiencing this?

    • Chris

You need to remove the XModGames repo.

      • Thomas Hopkins

Ok, i’ll try that. Thanks in advance!

Anyone else having issues with apps crashing after the jailbreak? About a third of my apps crash as soon as I open it….
