It’s not Siri. In fact, it’s not even close. Yet, you still may find it interesting enough to give it a shot, especially if you’re already a user of Voice Activator.

Automatic Dictation is essentially a meshing together of Voice Activator and Dragon Dictation. It basically allows you to (almost) use Dragon Dictation completely handsfree. It even allows you to send tweets directly from your dictation screen.

In the end, it’s a very clunky semi-hand-free solution that works, but it’s definitely no Siri…

Automatic Dictation is a free jailbreak tweak on Cydia’s BigBoss repo. You can use it solely with Activator, or combine it with the paid tweak Voice Activator for a much better experience.

It’s a valiant attempt, yet the complexity of the setup ultimately falls flat in my opinion. Let me know what you think about Automatic Dictation in the comments below.

I still use Siri0us, never deleted it.

    • Even if you do delete siri0us you can still manually install it

    • The Siri0us server is now down, so it’s stopped working for everyone who’d had it installed.

not gonna use this, but it did make me discover voice activator, so thanks!

  • I think opening up Twitter and typing in your message is faster then “Dictation”. As soon as Apple opens its APIs for Siri the doors will open to heaven. I personally think at that point everyone will for get about Jailbreaking.

I doubt it, you can always add more stuff with jailreaking

If I’m not mistaken you can have Dragon Dictation detect the end of text in its settings. No need to press DONE button

    • You’re probably right. I didn’t check Dragon’s settings.

  • My voiceactivator just wont start Dragon Dictation program. Every other voice command works!!! It knows that I try to start it but nothing happens.
I have the same problem now with iOS 5.0.1 and I had it with 4.3.3 also
