One of the things I love most about iOS 13 is the redesigned volume HUD. Instead of planting itself directly in the center of my display, the redesigned interface appears at the left side of the screen near the volume buttons, and collapses after a moment of inactivity to be as discreet as possible.

Despite the undeniable improvements that the iOS 13 volume HUD brought when compared to previous iterations of iOS, you’d be right to assume that the jailbreak community is continuously working on ways to make it better. iOS 13 brought with it a slew of improvements that, despite a few kinks, made it exponentially better than Apple’s preceding mobile operating system for iPhones and iPads alike. One of my favorite upgrades was to the ringer/silent UI, which now displays a substantially less intrusive pop-up at the top of the display as opposed to a massive pop-up in the center.

While many give Apple props for finally making this change after years’ worth of dissatisfaction with iOS’ native UI, some continue to believe that the iOS 13-based ringer/silent UI could do with some improvement. One of my favorite upgrades in iOS 13 is the updated ringer/silent HUD. Rather than taking up the entire center of the display, iOS 13’s ringer/silent HUD appears near the top, and it looks much sleeker with its smaller footprint and subtle colorization.

If you’re jailbroken on iOS 12 instead of iOS 13, then you might be excited to learn about a newly released jailbreak tweak called XIIIHUD-Mute by iOS developer XCXiao, as it ports the iOS 13 ringer/silent HUD experience to the older mobile operating system.
