Last week, we told you about Gameloft's upcoming new first-person shooter, N.O.V.A 3. And with its stunning graphics and Halo-esque gameplay, the latest iteration of the popular sci-fi series looked pretty impressive.

Gevey Ultra S unlock for GSM iPhone 4S works with iOS 5.1.1

Great news today for folks with a GSM iPhone 4S who are using, or planning to use, GEVEY's Ultra S product to unlock their handset. It appears the popular SIM interposer is compatible with the new iOS 5.1.1 update.

Apple released the update yesterday, equipped with a handful of bug fixes and improvements. And although its future is still a bit murky for jailbreakers, it looks like it's ok for unlockers to upgrade...

iOS 5.1.1 includes fix for dangerous Safari URL spoofing vulnerability

Earlier today, Apple released a new version of its mobile software: iOS 5.1.1. The update includes a number of bug fixes, and also apparently contains a patch for the dangerous URL spoofing vulnerability in mobile Safari.

We told you about the exploit, discovered by the folks at Major Security, back in March of this year. It allows web pages to spoof URLs in Safari's address bar, leading users to believe they're on a different website...

iOS 5.1.1 is out: fixes iPad network switching, Safari syncing, AirPlay, HDR

Right on the heels of iOS 5.1 release back in March, a new maintenance update has just appeared on Apple's servers. The new firmware for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models carries a build number 9B206 and includes several bug fixes, including one for the annoying network switching issue with iPad 3.

Minor AirPlay issues are addressed and reliability of HDR photography taken using the lock screen shortcut is now improved. The firmware update also squashed another issue with syncing Safari bookmarks and Reading List.

RedSn0w updated with minor bug fixes

Things are starting to pick up regarding the iOS 5.1 jailbreak, as we've just received word that pod2g has hit another major milestone in his efforts to hack the latest version of Apple's software.

iOS 5.1 jailbreak update: two big vulnerabilities found

We've just received a major update on the status of the iOS 5.1 jailbreak. Pod2g just tweeted that he had "a productive weekend," reportedly finding "2 big vulnerabilities. 1 kernel land and 1 root land."

The news comes just 5 days after the hacker posted a poll on his personal website, asking jailbreakers if hackers should continue work on an iOS 5.1 jailbreak or hold off until Apple seeds iOS 6...

Twitter has just announced that it has pushed a new version of Twitter for iPhone to the App Store. The app entails a number of updates including an improved Discover tab and more functionality for its push notification feature.

The Twitter app has received a lot of criticism over the redesign it received back in December of last year. In fact, a lot of folks left it for other third-party clients. Well this new update may be enough to win some of them back...

We've had a lot of folks asking us what the status is on the iOS 5.1 jailbreak, so we figured we'd give you guys an update with the latest info. As usual, pod2g has given us some insight into the progress of the hackers via a recent string of tweets.

The good news is that they have managed to bypass the ASLR (Address Space layout randomization) already. The complicated security measure could've taken much longer. The bad news is that a public jailbreak still seems to be a ways out...
