FakeCarrier App From Cydia Gives You a Verizon iPhone 4 Ahead of Launch

For those of you who simply can't wait a week to be free from the chains of AT&T, FakeCarrier will at least give you visual satisfaction while you wait for that February 10th launch date. Found in Cydia in the pre installed Big Boss Repository, FakeCarrier from Eric of the mirror dev team allows you to change the wireless carrier name to whatever you would like.

Now the app itself has been around for a while as well as others like it, such as MakeItMine, but I figured this was a good time to remind everyone of this neat and simple iPhone program...

The iPhone has had "Voice Control" for quite awhile. And although many verbal commands are supported, the iPhone's Voice Control still lacks the potential it could have.

You can already use Voice Control to make a call and play a song, but it's a shame you can't have more varied types of commands. Wouldn't it be nice if you could use the iPhone's native verbal recognition to look up a webpage or launch an app?

DeepEnd is a Jailbreak Tweak That Shifts Your iPhone’s Wallpaper Based on Orientation

Earlier this week we talked about 3DBoard, which is an upcoming jailbreak tweak that adds a 3D effect to your iPhone's Home screen. DeepEnd works in a similar way, altering your wallpaper's orientation based on movement.

DeepEnd is from a staple in the jailbreak app community, and one of our favorite developers, Ryan Petrich -- the same guy behind ActionMenu.

3DBoard, an Awesome 3D Home Screen For the iPhone That Doesn’t Require Glasses?

Woah, woah, woah. Wait a minute, that's just not possible. Or is it? That's what I thought when I first saw this video of 3DBoard in motion.

The first thing that stands out to me, is that unlike the Nintendo 3DS, you can see the effects via video. I have to say I'm a bit skeptical; that is until I get this puppy in my hands and test it out for myself. If this jailbreak tweak does happen to be real, though, things just got a lot more interesting.

How to Uninstall Unstable Apps When Cydia Won’t Open

Sometimes we install apps out of curiosity only to discover that they are unstable on our device. In some cases, it's an app developed for a specific iPhone or iPad model. In other cases, the app is only compatible with certain firmware versions. Other times you may have installed conflicting tweaks.

Whatever the reason may be, here is a fix for a constantly crashing Springboard with no way to open Cydia to uninstall unstable apps. If your iPhone boots to the lock screen, but crashes if you do anything beyond that, this guide will help you to remove problematic packages without Cydia.

‘No Rotation Status’ Proves That Good Things Come in Small Packages

No Rotation Status is your classic variety of jailbreak tweak. It does something extremely simple; tweaking an element that would probably go unnoticed to all but the most eagle-eyed iPhone user.

As its name implies, No Rotation Status gets rid of the rotation lock icon in your status bar, even when you have rotation lock enabled.

This can be especially useful for those of you sporting tweaks like Lock Info, where status bar real estate can become a matter of real concern...
