Dead Space For the iPhone Will Have You Shaking in Your Space Boots

Dead Space is a new and terrifying sci-fi action game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Love to scream during horror movies? Then start downloading, because you’re in for a treat.

Based on the console versions of the game, this small screen rendition manages to retain its dark and tense atmosphere, coupled with hardcore gameplay.

The suspense begins from the get-go, but the real terror begins when the lights are out. Grotesque aliens’ aka Necromorph’s will jump out and charge at you from every direction and it’s your job to blow them to kingdom come...

“Theme It” Store Released in Cydia, Direct Competition for Cydia’s Own Theme Center

Finding good themes for a jailbroken iPhone has never been that easy. Themes are usually posted by designers on forums and portfolio websites, and it can be difficult for the average jailbreaker to discover all of the great themes that are out there.

Cydia recently added the "Theme Center," which aims to help users find the plethora of Winterboard themes for jailbroken iDevices. The Theme Center is a great addition to Cydia, but there is plenty of room for improvement.

"Theme It" is a new jailbreak app that aims to be the "Theme Store you've been waiting for." It does look very promising...

Simple, Cloud-Synced Task Management With ‘Wunderlist’ for iPhone

Luckily, there are plenty of great options for task management on the iPhone. (Check out iDB's roundup of 5 awesome task management apps.)

Wunderlist, by 6wunderkinder, is a sleek and robust task management solution for the iPhone and Mac. Wunderlist is simple and easy to use, and it can also be used as a collaborative, over-the-cloud task management solution. A full-featured, sync-able desktop and mobile task management suite would normally have a price tag wouldn't it? (I love Things by Culture Code, but the desktop and iPhone app combined cost me $60.)

Wunderlist is totally free for both the desktop and iOS version. Let's see what the app has to offer...

Verbs for iPhone – There’s Finally An IM App That Apple Would Be Proud Of

There's a new iPhone IM client on the block. Verbs, by #include tech software, is a simple and beautiful IM app that looks like it was designed by Apple itself.

There are a ton of IM apps on the App Store (IM+, BeejiveIM, fring, AIM and Yahoo! Messenger to name a few).  I've used many, and honestly, most of them look pretty awful. I was so excited when I saw the Verbs design mockups several months ago, and the app recently received an update in the App Store that makes it definitely worth reviewing.

While I'm not someone who constantly relies on instant messaging to communicate, I do see the benefit of having a solid IM app on the iPhone for occasionally hopping on Google Talk. The good thing is that Verbs has more to offer than just good looks...

Isaac Newton’s Gravity Will Bring Even the Smartest Gamers Back to Earth

Isaac Newton's Gravity [iTunes Link] was created by Namco and is an intuitive physics puzzler in which you will need to successfully guide a ball across a board to hit a switch.

Each level will give you different shaped pieces such as cubes or blocks to place on a map. You will select each piece by simply tapping on it and then rotating it in any direction.

Next, drag, drop and place it on the map. Once all of the pieces are set, hit the play button and your ball will roll out and hopefully reach it's destination...

iPhone Game ‘Death Worm’ Makes You Feel Like Bait

Death Worm [iTunes Link] was created by PlayCreek and is perfect for gamers with those midnight munchies for delectable human corpses. A couple months ago I reviewed Super Mega Worm and had so much fun with it that I decided to give Death Worm a round, or in my case many rounds!

Just like Super Mega Worm, you control a worm with only one purpose, to eat or destroy anything that moves.

This game packs a full course meal! First as an appetizer, we have animals such as birds, elephants and more.  Next for your entree you can choose between mindless pedestrians or police officers. Too light? How about Bazooka carrying Soldiers. Also as a side dish you can devour cars, trucks and other land vehicles. Finally for desert, we have a few different helicopters, planes or the ultimate surprise… UFO's!! Still hungry? Well you can choose between 3 different locations!

Create Wallpapers and Contact Photos for Your iPhone With ‘Ensoul’ for Mac

I love pretty iPhone wallpapers. The Mac App Store recently launched, and I've been looking for an app that will easily allow me to create iPhone-size wallpapers out of the hundreds of desktop wallpapers and hi-res photos I already have on my Mac. After a little searching, I found Ensoul by MacPaw software.

Ensoul is the perfect desktop companion for creating iPhone wallpaper and contact photos on the Mac. The app is incredibly well designed and focused. And, for a wallpaper addict, there's enough under the hood to make it worth the $9.99 price tag.

With Ensoul, you can easily crop and create iPhone-sized wallpapers out of your already existing wallpapers and photos on your Mac. But that's not all, Ensoul has more to offer than just wallpaper resizing...

Check Out Nationwide Cellular Coverage Map With ‘Coverage’ for iPhone

With the imminent Verizon iPhone announcement, what better way to pass the time than seeing what you would actually be gaining with a Verizon iPhone. People want better cellular coverage, data reliability and overall speed. AT&T hasn't built a very good reputation over its last 3+ years of exclusivity with the iPhone.

The general consensus in the U.S. is that a Verizon iPhone would probably make the revolutionary smartphone a much more dependable cellphone. Less dropped calls and 3G dead-zones would be a warm welcome to those plagued by AT&T sluggishness in heavily populated areas.

Recently, there was a slew of ad campaigns from AT&T and Verizon that were all about "coverage maps." The goal of the ads were to convince the consumer that either Verizon or AT&T had better overall coverage. Thanks to a nifty iPhone app, you can see for yourself...

iPhone App Review: Ninja Bounce

Ninja Bounce [iTunes link] created by JellyOasis is a survival game and continues my trend of reviewing awesome Ninja-related iPhone games (e.g. Ninjump and Veggie Samurai). This is really a fun game that adds a couple new dimensions to the survival genre. Instead of slicing and dicing like most Ninja games, this game takes a different approach to the Ninja's skills, the jump (or as Indiana Jones would call it, The Leap of Faith!)

The concept is simple: you must correctly tap on either the two points on the screen that correlates to the specific point of the game. Your Ninja will be constantly moving, however; the length between jumps is directly related to correctly tapping on the right button...

Create and Send Pre-Made Texts With ‘Canned’ for iPhone

Let's be real, your time is precious. Sometimes you just don't have time to shoot off a quick text. You could be in a meeting, driving, at work, or just plain lazy. Wouldn't it be nice to have a list of pre-made, generic messages you could easily send in a text message?

Canned for iPhone, by Sky Balloon, is a lightweight, simple app that allows you to easily send off "canned" responses through text message. The app integrates with your Messages app by pasting your replies into the input field and allowing you to choose your recipient...

The Mac App Store Has Opened, Brings Popular iOS Games to the Mac

The Mac App Store has opened. If you go to Software Update on your Mac, you can download the latest version of OS X. This update includes a shiny new app on your dock called the "App Store." Don't get confused, this isn't the iOS App Store on your iPhone; all of these apps are Mac-specific apps.

While the Mac App Store does bring many great new apps for the Mac, many iOS apps that we all know are also available through the Mac App Store. Specifically, there are many popular games from the iOS App Store now available on the Mac. The new Mac releases of these games are basically fullscreen versions with some added features and content.

And yes, you can now play Angry Birds in full, HD resolution on your 27-inch iMac...

iPhone App Review: Saving Private Sheep

Saving Private Sheep [iTunes Link] was created by Bulky Pix and is a witty and fun physics puzzle game for the iPhone. Some of you may think of Saving Private Ryan (the movie), but that's where all the similarities end.

The concept is simple yet deceivingly complex. You must save Private S. Ryan (a sheep), while he sits atop or dangles perilously from structures that only the Devil could have conceived. To save him, you will need to destroy boxes, blocks of ice, or exploding packages by simply pressing on each thing with your finger...
