Sync Photos and Video Between iDevices With PhotoSync

While Apple's Photo Stream is a great way of getting photos to sync across multiple devices, there's one glaring problem. Photo Stream doesn't support video, presumably because Apple doesn't want its servers full of hours and hours of 1080p videos showing cats sleeping.

It makes sense from a technical standpoint, but that doesn't help you if you need to get a video from one device to another. There's syncing with iTunes, and doing the iPhoto jig in the hope that everything works as planned, but it's a pain, and not always practical.

That's where PhotoSync comes in...

What do you get when you mix a slideshow with iOS 5's Notification Center? You get SlideCenter. That's right, there's little creativity in the naming department these days.

SlideCenter allows you to stream all of the photos from your iPhone's Camera Roll, right into Notification Center.

Apple announced a 8 megapixel camera for the iPhone 4S yesterday, and full-res photos taken on the 4S have been provided on Apple's website for comparison.

We've told you about Google's Photovine iPhone app a couple of times before, and we've also given you the bad news that the search/ad giant is killing the app. Offering an interesting take on the Instagram idea, Photovine offered users the opportunity to take and share photographs that revolved around a common theme, or Vine. We liked it, you liked it.

Google, apparently, did not.
