Should Nintendo Make Games for iOS?

It's no secret that Apple's iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad have made some serious waves in the gaming industry. Their direct line to the App Store with thousands of games available for $1 or less suddenly made other bulky, more expensive handsets seem out of date.

Apple's latest victim is Nintendo's new 3DS offering. The company's recently had to slash its price in the face of poor sales — after not even 6 months on the market. The downturn has Nintendo's investors wanting answers. Perhaps they should look into developing for iOS...

Make Your iPad 2 Look Just Like a Nintendo Gameboy

Those of a certain age will remember the good old days of the Nintendo Gameboy. The 3DS and DS' Grandfather was a boxy, black and white (well, more green, actually) affair, none of this headache-inducing 3D whizz-bangery here.

If you remember the device in question and don't think I've finally lost the plot, then you might just like an upcoming iPad 2 case, courtesy of Lootiful.

As with Lootiful's iPhone 4 case, the iPad equivalent offers protection from bumps and scratches while presenting a retro appeal for those of us old  enough to remember the golden age of gaming...

Mario Look-A-Like Visits the App Store

Most people agree that if something looks like a duck, smells like a duck, and tastes like a duck, then it's a duck. That cliche saying doesn't seem to fit so well in this situation. Monino looks like Mario, sounds and acts like Mario, but he sure isn't Mario.

The application some how snuck into the App Store and has been making noise around the internet ever since. It isn't garnering attention for its amazing game play, but for the amazing amount of copyright and trademark laws it seems to be breaking. How long do you think it'll survive in the App Store?

3DBoard, an Awesome 3D Home Screen For the iPhone That Doesn’t Require Glasses?

Woah, woah, woah. Wait a minute, that's just not possible. Or is it? That's what I thought when I first saw this video of 3DBoard in motion.

The first thing that stands out to me, is that unlike the Nintendo 3DS, you can see the effects via video. I have to say I'm a bit skeptical; that is until I get this puppy in my hands and test it out for myself. If this jailbreak tweak does happen to be real, though, things just got a lot more interesting.

Could you imagine what games would play like with 3D effects like this? And no glasses? Check the full video demonstration out inside...

NES Games Sneak Back Into the App Store

We've been here before. It seems as if a variety of Nintendo NES games have sneaked their way back into the App Store. 8 bit Gamepack and 8 bit Gamepack LITE are direct off-shoots of Ice Climber and Wild Gunman, both exclusive Nintendo titles. A more popular game called Duck Hunt needs no explanation of its thievery.

The legality of this will probably send the entertaining games into oblivion, but if you get the chance go and get them as I was able to get Duck Hunt. Nintendo games have came and quickly left in the past. However a closer look at Duck Hunt shows that the game has been in the store since June 18th of this year. If these apps are pulled, it once again shows Apple's shortsightedness in allowing illegal applications into the App Store. Then again the store's director has been busy lately.
