Dutch blog iPhoneabonnementen.com re-posted Monday some interesting new photos that allegedly show off a three-model iPhone 7 lineup consisting of the claimed 'iPhone 7', 'iPhone 7 Plus' and 'iPhone 7 Pro' models. The images were originally posted on Chinese social network Weibo by an unknown source and should be taken with a grain of salt.
This past weekend, the social networking giant Facebook announced that a beta version of its brand new software development kit (SDK) for Apple's Swift programming language is available for download. The new SDK integrates Facebook buttons into iOS, watchOS, macOS and tvOS apps written in Swift, and integrates such features like Facebook Login, Analytics for Apps, Graph API and Share to Facebook sheets. The Facebook SDK source code is available via GitHub on an open-source basis.
British pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) announced Monday that it has started a new rheumatoid arthritis study which uses Apple's ResearchKit platform that lets medical researchers gather robust and meaningful data from iPhone users. The drug maker will be using ResearchKit in its new GSK PARADE iPhone app.

Japan's carrier SoftBank has announced it will be purchasing British fabless semiconductor maker ARM Holdings plc for a reported $32 billion, which is around a 43 percent premium on its closing market value of $22.25 billion on Friday. ARM confirmed the deal (PDF download) on Monday.
According to the statement, ARM's board is expected to recommend shareholders accept the offer. Apple is an investor in ARM and licenses its technology as a basis for custom CPU designs for its own A-series chips which power iOS devices.

Reports surfaced yesterday on Reddit that some users of Readdle's excellent free mobile email client, Spark for iPhone, got locked out of their Apple ID account. Some of the affected people were able to re-gain access by performing a password reset on their Apple ID. Apple Music, which celebrated its first anniversary last month, now lets subscribers listen to Katy Perry's first new single in two years, “Rise”. The song, which Perry wrote herself, is described by The Entertainment Weekly as “an uplifting track with a dash of electronic influence,” with the music video containing scenes from the NBC Olympics.
NBC will play the song as the anthem of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

Universal Search feature on the fourth-generation Apple TV has been refreshed yesterday with expanded support for searching content provided by tvOS video apps from Viacom-owned Comedy Central and music networks MTV and VH1. Provided these apps are installed on your set-top box, you can either use the Search app on the device or press the Siri button on the remote and use your voice to find shows like South Park and others.
