Noctis9 adds a dark mode to many transparent interfaces in iOS

Many iPhone and iPad users have wanted some kind of dark mode setting for ages, and the energy was even more hyped up after Apple debuted dark mode on macOS for the first time.

That’s where a new jailbreak tweak called Noctis9 comes in, as it brings a system-wide dark mode to various transparent elements of iOS, including, but not limited to Control Center and 3D Touch menus.

tvOS 10.1 jailbreak could be a possibility, suggests nitoTV

In a series of tweets published on Friday, Kevin Bradley, also known as nitoTV, mentioned that although nothing is certain quite yet, there are chances that a jailbreak for tvOS 10.1 could be released in the near future. To prepare for the eventuality, nitoTV suggests to either restore or downgrade to tvOS 10.1.

Very little is known so far about that possible tvOS 10.1 jailbreak, but Bradley told iDB that the yalu102 jailbreak from Luca Todesco should be adaptable to tvOS.

How to downgrade (or update) to iOS 10.2

We recently covered the release of Luca Todesco's first build of yalu102. This tool will eventually allow all 64-bit devices to jailbreak iOS 10. iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be able to use it on iOS 10.0-10.1.1, all other 64-bit devices will be able to use it on iOS 10.0-10.2.

As the signing window for iOS 10.2 could close at any time, the pressure is on to downgrade to iOS 10.2 if you are currently on a higher firmware. Some people on a lower firmware should also upgrade to iOS 10.2, but not everyone. In this guide, we'll talk you through how to upgrade/downgrade to iOS 10.2 from a lower/higher firmware, if you are one of the people who should be there.

ReachBoard lets you peek at your iOS clipboard in the Reachability view

For a lot of people, the space that comes up when you invoke Reachability is considered wasted space. It becomes a giant gaping hole of nothingness on your screen any time you use the feature to one-handedly use your large-screened iPhone.

A new free jailbreak tweak called ReachBoard aims to make good use of that empty space by filling it with anything that may be residing in your clipboard.

Heart Throb lets you favorite pictures in your Photos app with a double tap

You can favorite any of your photographs or screenshots in the stock Photos app on your iPhone to help filter your most-loved memories from the rest. In order to favorite a picture, you normally tap on the heart-shaped button at the bottom of the app.

Heart Throb, on the other hand, is a new free jailbreak tweak that brings Instagram-like favoriting capability to the stock Photos app. With it, you can double-tap on your photograph to “favorite” it.

How to jailbreak iOS 10.0-10.2 with yalu102

Luca Todesco just announced the first beta build of his Yalu jailbreak for iOS 10.0-10.2. In this guide, I'll walk you through how to use the tool, should you want to try out the beta.

Bear in mind, this tool is first release and is not necessarily stable. It also does not support all devices yet. Whilst Todesco has said that it should already be more stable than the betas of Yalu for 10.0-10.1.1, a first build is a first build. Proceed at your own risk.

iOS 10.2 Yalu jailbreak beta build now available

Hot on the heels of the source code being posted to GitHub yesterday, Luca Todesco has posted a very early build of the tool to his website. Work on the GitHub code proceeded quickly after its posting last night, with Todesco and others merging several commits to enable Substrate, add more device support, and streamline the tool.

LargeCCKnobs brings iOS 10-style slider knobs to your iOS 9 device

One of the things Apple changed from iOS 9 to iOS 10 is the size of the knobs that appear on the adjustment bars for volume level and song scrubber. The latter has larger knobs, which make grabbing onto them a little easier than in earlier versions of iOS.

If you’re jailbroken on iOS 9, and you want the same characteristics from iOS 10 to fall in your lap, then you’ll find a new free jailbreak tweak called LargeCCKnobs quite useful.

iOS 10.2.1 and jailbreaking: what are my options?

What with the release of iOS 10.2.1 and the soon-to-be-closed signing window for iOS 10.2, many people are wondering what the best strategy is for their device. Should they stick with a jailbroken firmware or jump to iOS 10? If they're already without a jailbreak, which iOS version do they need to be on to make sure they get one? What do they need to do to be able to upgrade to iOS 10.2 later, and keep their jailbreak for now?

In this article, we'll quickly go through what we consider the smartest options for each device and iOS version, so that you can (hopefully) make an informed decision.

Jailbreak tweaks of the week: AntiTracker, Quickify, & more…

For those who still have their jailbreaks, it's been pretty slow in terms of jailbreak tweak releases recently. The lack of a recent public jailbreak for everyone paired with the loss of interest in iOS 9 is, without a shadow of doubt, making things rough for jailbreak developers.

Regardless, we put together a roundup every week to showcase everything new in Cydia, so following that tradition, we'll be doing the same this week, starting with our favorites and moving on to all the rest afterwards.

How to get the new iOS 10.2 emoji on your jailbroken iOS 9 device

With the release of iOS 10.2, Apple introduced a whole bunch of new emoji. The Unicode 9.0 collection features 72 new emoji, including such crowd-pleasers as "Nauseated face" and "Fox face".

Emoji are an extremely popular part of messaging on iOS and some people even update their devices just to get the new releases. However, you needn't choose between your jailbreak and your smileys; in this article we'll go through how to get the new iOS 10.2 emoji on your jailbroken iOS 9 device.
