At the time of this writing, there aren’t very many devices that can be jailbroken on iOS 14 and/or iPadOS 14, except of course for the A9 and A9X varieties which received newfangled iOS and iPadOS 14 support by the checkra1n jailbreak earlier this week. But if you’re lucky enough to have one of these devices at your disposal and you’re interested in making a positive change to Apple’s latest and greatest mobile operating system, then you’re in luck.

BatteryWidgetLabels by iOS developer Dylan Duff is one of the first jailbreak tweaks to be released for improving the iOS and iPadOS 14 user experience, and it does so by adding numeric battery percentages to the brand-new Batteries widget that users can take advantage of right out of the box.

If you’re interested in customizing the screenshot flash in any way, shape, or form, then you might take a liking to a newly released and free jailbreak tweak dubbed Flashy by iOS developer CydiaGeek. In a nutshell, this tweak lets you customize the screenshot flash’s color and make other minor adjustments to the screenshot flash behavior.

Velaris is the Home Screen user experience that all jailbreakers deserve

Apple’s new iOS 14 update is jam-packed with enticing new features that offer a strong argument for upgrading from a jailbroken iOS 13 device. But as veteran jailbreakers will say, it’s generally better to stick with the jailbroken device, even if the firmware isn’t the ‘latest and greatest.’

There’s no doubt that Apple pours tons of cash into researching and developing some of the best mobile camera experiences for smartphones in the world, but that doesn’t make it perfect. In fact, low-light photography is one area in particular where the iPhone’s camera seems to lag behind some of the competition.

If Apple’s native Night Mode feature isn’t enough for you, then you might want to consider upping your ante and trying a new jailbreak tweak called Lumi by iOS developer FoxfortMobile. Lumi requires a jailbroken device to work, but the results are particularly pleasant, especially if you’re an amateur iPhone photographer and struggle to capture the ideal shot in the most demanding of low-light conditions.
