Radio Shack to Get Verizon iPhone 4 on September 15, Better Late Than Never?

9to5Mac is reporting that Radio Shack will start carrying the Verizon iPhone 4 in its retail stores on September 15, only a few weeks before Apple's expected iPhone 5 announcement.

Radio Shack has promised to sell Verizon handsets in September, but it's odd that they would choose to kick it all off with the iPhone 4. Why not just wait until the next iPhone comes out? Do they know something we don't?

Ever Wanted an iPhone With a Wooden Back Panel?

If unique is what you're after, then you're going to love JackBacks.

If there's one downside to everyone and their grandmother being the proud owner of an iPhone 4 right now, it's that there's nothing really unique about the handset itself. Granted, some may have a fancy case, but other than that, all our iPhones look the same.

Apple Expected to Produce Another 17 Million iPhone 4s Next Quarter

We know, these rumors regarding Apple's upcoming iPhone announcement are getting out of control. Are there going to be two different smartphone models, or just one as usual? Will it resemble its predecessor, or feature an all new design?

Another question is that if there is a low-end smartphone introduced, what will it look like? We've heard a lot of scenarios, but at this point a retooled iPhone 4 seems the most likely. GigaOM lends support to this theory, relaying a report from Apple's supply chain...
