Unc0ver v3.3.0 beta 7 released to fix more loose ends

Pwn20wnd has been hard at work over the past several days in implementing @NedWilliamson’s new iOS 12.1.3-12.2-centric Sock Puppet exploit into the unc0ver jailbreak. Perhaps unsurprisingly, there’ve been a lot of new updates to the unc0ver jailbreak, with most of those updates involving the tying up of loose ends in regards to the new exploit.

While Pwn20wnd updated the unc0ver jailbreak just this morning to version 3.3.0 beta 6, it now seems that the hacker has updated unc0ver once more, this time to version 3.3.0 beta 7. According to the announcement Tweet, this update resolves several miscellaneous bugs reported by users:

Chimera updated to v1.2.2 to fix the voucher_swap exploit on A12(X) devices

It was a busy day for the Electra Team and Pwn20wnd alike, but just when we thought that the jailbreak developers were winding down to take a breather for the night, the Electra Team emerged with yet another spontaneous update for the Chimera jailbreak. The latest version of Chimera is now v1.2.2.

The Electra Team announced the new Chimera update on Twitter just this evening, and they went on to explain that it addresses a problem where the tried and true voucher_swap exploit wouldn’t work when attempting to jailbreak A12(X) devices running iOS 12.0-12.1.2 with Chimera v1.2.1:

The Electra Team made good on its promise to release an updated Chimera jailbreak with support for the new iOS 12.1.3-12.2-centric Sock Puppet exploit by @NedWilliamson, but as you might’ve seen from the slurry of jailbreak tool updates this afternoon, the exploit had bugs that still needed fixing on certain handsets.

Shortly after Pwn20wnd released a revised version of the unc0ver v3.3.0 beta with fixes for all known issues pertaining to the Sock Puppet exploit, the Electra Team released Chimera v1.2.1 to do the same on their platform. The release was announced via Twitter this afternoon:

Pwn20wnd drops unc0ver v3.3.0 beta 4 with Sock Puppet-centric reliability improvements (Update: Pulled)

Pwn20wnd just got done updating the unc0ver jailbreak tool to version 3.3.0 beta 3 this morning, and in an unforeseen turn of events, he has just updated unc0ver again this afternoon to beta 4 with an important reliability fix involving the Sock Puppet exploit for iOS 12.2.

Pwn20wnd announced the updated version of unc0ver just a few moments ago via Twitter:

Following yesterday’s Sock Puppet exploit release by @NedWilliamson, jailbreak developers such as Pwn20wnd and the Electra Team have been scrambling to implement support into the unc0ver and Chimera jailbreaks.

While the unc0ver jailbreak has supported Sock Puppet since yesterday afternoon, the Electra Team said that it was internally testing iOS 12.2 support for Chimera and that a release was imminent. Despite having no stern ETA at the time, the Electra Team officially released Chimera v1.2.0 just this morning with support for iOS versions 12.1.3-12.2.

Pwn20wnd updates unc0ver jailbreak to v3.3.0 beta 3 with bug fixes

Just yesterday, Pwn20wnd updated the unc0ver jailbreak with support for @NedWilliamson’s Sock Puppet exploit, which brought official support for iOS versions 12.1.3-12.2. This afternoon, Pwn20wnd updated unc0ver again, bringing the tool up to version 3.3.0 beta 3.

Pwn20wnd announced the update via Twitter just this morning, noting that it incorporates several bug fixes:

GlyphAlert brings a gorgeous glyph-centric notification system to iOS

iOS’ notification system certainly gets the point across when you receive a notification, but it hasn’t had much of an aesthetic overhaul for quite some time now. If you’re jailbroken and in the market for a somewhat exhilarating new notification experience, then you might take a liking to a newly-released jailbreak tweak dubbed GlyphAlert by iOS developer c1d3r.

Just as the name implies, GlyphAlert takes a glyph-centric approach to letting you know when you have an incoming notification. The glyphs, such as those shown in the screenshot examples above, are animated and can be assigned to specific applications, depending on what they represent.

This jailbreak tweak makes Live Photo-based wallpaper playback entirely automatic

One of the things I like about having an iOS device is that I can set a Live Photo as my wallpaper if I wanted to. On the other hand, animating that Live Photo generally requires some kind of user interaction from the Lock screen, and this tends to make the experience less exciting overall.

A newly-released jailbreak tweak called AutoDynamicWallpaper(A12 Support) by iOS developer anima gets you around this silly bottleneck by forcing any Live Photo-centric wallpapers you might have to play automatically as the device wakes. With that in mind, you won’t need to interact with your Live Photo-based wallpaper in any way to enjoy its liveliness.

Electra Team says ‘Sock Puppet’ exploit support is coming to Chimera

Pwn20wnd just got done updating the unc0ver jailbreak tool with support for the new ‘Sock Puppet’ exploit by @NedWilliamson with support for firmware versions up to iOS 12.2, and as it would seem, the Electra team isn’t too far behind.

In a series of Tweets shared just this afternoon, the Electra Team revealed that it would soon update the iOS 12-centric Chimera jailbreak tool with support for the new ‘Sock Puppet’ exploit:

Unc0ver picks up support for ‘Sock Puppet’ exploit, now supports up to iOS 12.2

In what could only be described as a surprising treat for the jailbreak community, Pwn20wnd released unc0ver v3.3.0 betas 1 and 2 to the general public on Thursday with official support for all firmware versions up to iOS 12.2. This means that in addition to the previously-supported iOS 11.0-12.1.2, unc0ver now supports iOS versions 12.1.3, 12.1.4, and 12.2.

Pwn20wnd announced the updated unc0ver jailbreak tool just this afternoon, adding that it takes full advantage of @NedWilliamson’s tfp0 exploit, which has been subtly named ‘Sock Puppet’ by its creator:
