Jailbreak tweaks of the week: Vinculum, Lithium Ion, & more…

With the launch of the new iPhone 7 & 7 Plus, and the release of iOS 10 not too long ago, the jailbreak is in a bit of a lull right now. Nevertheless, Cydia is still surprising us with new jailbreak tweak releases throughout the week, and we've been covering them as they've been launched.

In this roundup, we'll show you all the jailbreak tweaks that were released this week, starting with our favorites.

PredictionShortcuts adds cut, copy, and paste buttons above the keyboard

Text editing can be so cumbersome on the iOS platform, mostly because of having to tap and hold on text to select it and then having to wait for the editing menu to appear on the screen afterwards.

Fortunately, a new free jailbreak tweak called PreditctionShortcuts adds cut, copy, and paste options right to the QuickType section of the keyboard for ease of access. Best of all, it doesn't even impede on your ability to use the predictive typing features.

Skype for iOS updated with Siri, Phone, Contacts and Lock screen integrations

Microsoft today announced availability of freshly updated Skype for iOS apps. Bumped to version 6.25, both Skype for iPhone and Skype for iPad now include SiriKit support that lets them integrate with Siri so you can call people and send messages using just your voice. The apps also take advantage of CallKit, which allows VoIP Skype calls to behave like normal cellular calls with fullscreen contact images on the Lock screen and integration with Phone's Recents and Favorites on iSO 10 devices.

Apple airs new ‘Balloons’ ad highlighting iPhone 7 and expressive messaging

Apple's much improved Messages app in iOS 10 is more expressive than ever, especially with nicely done animations that take over the entire screen.

One of the fullscreen effects in Messages, a bunch of balloons that fly up from the bottom of the screen, is the central theme of a new iPhone 7 commercial that Apple posted on its YouTube channel today.

The 30-second commercial wraps up with the message, “The all-new iPhone 7, with expressive messages. Practically magic.”

QuickDial Lite adds speed dial features to your iPhone

QuickDial Lite is a new free jailbreak tweak intended for iPhones that allows you to quickly dial up to 9 of your favorite phone numbers in fewer keystrokes.

With this tweak, you can assign certain phone numbers to individual number keys on the keypad in the Phone app. Afterwards, you will be able to tap and hold on any of those assigned keys to automatically initiate a phone call to the number assigned to the key you held down.

How to use emoji like a pro in Messages for iPhone and iPad

Your expressive Messages app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch packs in some interesting and useful features related to emojis. For added impact, emojis can be made three times their normal size.

But that's not all.

Apple's stock QuickType keyboard now recommends emojis as you type and Messages has a cool emojification feature where you tap words to turn them into appropriate emoji characters.

We're going to take you through all emoji-related features in Messages for iOS and teach you how to use them. Are you ready to boost your emoji game?

Apple said to be meeting up with high profile hackers as part of its new bug bounty program

Apple has reportedly reached out to a handful of high profile iPhone and Mac hackers to try and secure their operating systems from exploits that could be used maliciously or for jailbreaking.

The hackers are expected to meet at the Cupertino campus some time this month, where they can earn up to $200,000 for finding major exploits as part of Apple's bug bounty program.

The perfect jailbroken iPhone: iOS 9 edition

Following a ritualistic bloodline of popular posts we've shared in the past, we'll be showing you what jailbreak tweaks we think make a perfect jailbroken iPhone on iOS 9.

Personally, I believe less is more; keeping a jailbroken device as stock as possible without compromising on your most wanted features helps keep it both stable and functional. Overloading it with jailbreak tweaks for the sake of aesthetics can lead to instability, and that's something I tend to avoid.

As a result, I focus mainly on tweaks that serve a functional purpose more so than tweaks intended to make your device look cooler. These tweaks will all work with the Pangu jailbreak for iOS 9.3.3.
