With iOS 15.0.1 having been available for a while, Apple stops signing iOS 15.0

Apple released iOS & iPadOS 15.0.1 on October 1st, marking the first update to the company’s new mobile operating systems with bug fixes. Notably, this update resolved a problem with Unlock with Apple Watch not working correctly with the brand-new iPhone 13 lineup – an exceptionally valuable feature amid a raging pandemic in which mask-wearing has become a common sight.

Now that some time has passed since Apple released iOS & iPadOS 15.0.1, it’s no surprise to see that Apple is closing the signing window for the original iOS & iPadOS 15.0 firmware that launched to the general public just two weeks prior.

It's probably safe to say that iOS 15 has had a fair share of pain points since its public launch back in September. Interestingly, one of those was Apple's decision to . . . aggressively switch between macro photography and not. Some reviewers pointed it out that it was a bit of an issue, but Apple was pretty quick to say that a fix was incoming.

Way back in June of this year, when Apple first introduced iOS 15, one of the features baked into the software was better support for Find My integration with both AirPods Pro and AirPods Max. A couple of Mondays ago, Apple officially released iOS & iPadOS 15 to the general public with a slew of new features for Apple’s mobile device lineup following an extensive beta period throughout the Summer months.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Apple’s move to launch a new firmware version for its platforms has now been complemented with the unsigning of the previously current firmware — iOS & iPadOS 14.8.

Has iOS 15 Photos deleted some of the images saved from your Messages chats?

Do certain images and videos saved in iOS 15's Photos app disappear on a whim from your device? If so, chalk that up to another bug in iOS 15 that in certain conditions deletes images that you've previously saved to Apple's Photos software from your Messages chats.

Annoyingly, iOS 15 won’t let you turn off Apple TV keyboard notifications

Apple TV allows you to type anything like your password into tvOS fields, using your iPhone or iPad. However, iOS 15 has removed the ability to optionally switch off Apple TV keyboard notifications that pop up every time a text field is selected on the media streamer.

iOS 15.1 beta 2 fixes bug causing issues with unlocking iPhone 13 with Apple Watch

The iPhone 13 lineup launched earlier this month. And, unfortunately for some new owners, a bug surfaced that caused the new hardware to not properly communicate with a paired Apple Watch to access the ability to unlock the iPhone 13 with an Apple Watch. This feature is designed to make unlocking an iPhone with Face ID much more streamlined while wearing a mask (but it works without a mask, too, like when wearing certain sunglasses).
