Plants vs. Zombies 2 to be delayed until ‘later in the summer’

Bad news this afternoon for Plants vs. Zombies fans. Electronic Arts has announced today that the highly anticipated sequel to PopCap's popular lane defense game will not launch next month as it had originally anticipated.

A few weeks ago, PopCap announced that the game, officially titled 'Plants vs. Zombies 2: It's About Time,' would be released on July 18. But it appears EA—its parent company—thinks it needs more time to fine tune things...

Major ‘Dubai’ update released for Real Racing 3

Good news this afternoon for Real Racing fans. Electronic Arts has released the massive 'Dubai' update we told you about earlier this week, and it is now available in the App Store. The update features everything you'd expect from a franchise racer, including new car-makers, new car models, and new tracks...

Real Racing 3 now available in the US App Store

It's been a long wait, but it's finally here. Real Racing 3 has officially landed in the US App Store as a free download. A couple of weeks ago, we spent some hands-on time with the game, and came away blown away by the graphics. Some of you guys might not dig the game's new freemium approach — an approach that ditches paying up front in favor of paying for in app purchases — but only time will tell if this negatively impacts the game's reception.

Real Racing 3 features tons of new cars, tracks, and all sorts of upgrades for your vehicle of choice. It's a polarizing title due to the fact that iOS' most popular racing game franchise has taken an abrupt turn towards the freemium model. But even if you don't appreciate the new approach, you owe it to yourself to download this game just to take in the visuals. Real Racing 3 is eye candy in its most concentrated form.

Real Racing 3 hands-on

EA surprised us and dropped the Firemonkeys developed Real Racing 3 a few weeks earlier than its scheduled release in some territories. We were fortunate enough to be able to go hands-on with the highly anticipated sequel to iOS' darling racing game franchise.

While we're just beginning to progress through the game, some things were readily apparent. Yes, Real Racing 3 is a so-called freemium game, and EA is hoping that you will open your wallets as you make speedy progress through the game. We also found that the "online" experience is heavily watered down. In fact, I'd hesitate to actually call it online at all, as it's actually more of an asynchronous affair, which pits you against your friend's "ghost" racers instead.

Although the freemium aspect and the lack of true realtime head-to-head play may disappoint, the game tries to make up for it with its stunning visuals. This is hands-down the best looking iOS game I've ever seen or played. It's just an absolute visual overdose. The game looks wonderful on the iPad mini, and the iPhone 4, but to really appreciate its beauty, fire it up on a Retina enabled full-sized iPad. Trust me when I say this, you'll be picking your jaw up off the floor.

Firemonkeys posts new Real Racing 3 Developer Diary video

I've been looking forward to the new Real Racing title, Real Racing 3, ever since Firemonkeys first unveiled it last August at the EA Summer Showcase press conference. The graphics in the trailer they showed off were very impressive.

We haven't heard much about the game since then, as it seems like the developers are really taking their time with the racer. But judging by this new Developer Diary video the team just posted, all of that extra work is really going to pay off...

First Real Racing 3 trailer surfaces with amazing graphics

Great news for all of you iOS gamers out there, Firemonkeys has just taken the lid off of Real Racing 3. The title is one of the most popular racing franchises, if not franchises in general, in the App Store.

This will be the first game out of the new mobile development studio, which is made up of Firemint and Iron Monkey staff — two independent studios that were recently acquired by Electronic Arts...

Electronic Arts teases upcoming FIFA 13 release

Football, known to Americans as soccer, is by far and wide the most popular sport on the planet. So it's no surprise that Electronic Arts' FIFA is one of the world's best-selling video game franchises.

The series' latest iteration, FIFA 13, is expected to hit all major platforms within the next two months. And EA has started to tease the release, by posting beautiful screenshots of the iOS version...

Last month we told you about The Simpsons: Tapped Out, a new EA game that was supposed to make its way to the App Store. Turns out the game was available in many countries overseas, but for some reason, it wasn't available in the US quite yet.

EA Launches Daily Deals Page for its iOS Games

With Christmas just two weeks away, developers are undoubtedly going to start rolling out their app specials soon. It's the holidays, and just as publishers hosted major app sales over Thanksgiving week, we expect to see tons of deals this month.

EA, or Electronic Arts rather, was at the forefront of the discounting in November, shaving up to 80% off of some of its most popular titles. And apparently it has even bigger plans in store for December, as the company has setup a dedicated Daily Deals site...

EA Games Re-Imagines Tetris, Brings it to the iPhone

Anyone of a certain age will no doubt remember playing Tetris on the original GameBoy in all its multi-green-colored glory. That's right kids, we played games without color!

Today the owners of the cash cow that is Tetris, Electronic Arts, has stealthily released a new version of the ever popular game for the iPhone. Thankfully, this "re-imagined" release of the classic Tetris game does sport some color, and from our early testing, there's lots of it! Think two neon-colored children throwing neon-colored paint at funny shaped blocks. Got it? Right...
