Apple seeds iOS 6 Beta 3 to registered developers

Apple has just issued a third beta build of iOS 6 to developers. The new software has not yet appeared on Apple’s iOS Developer Center though devices running iOS 6 Beta 2 can update over-the-air (go to Settings > General > Software Update). The update prompt mentions only "bug fixes and improvements" so we're doing some digging as we speak and will update when we find out more...

Facebook releases SDK 3.0 Beta with iOS 6 integration

As it promised a few weeks ago, Facebook today has released a major iOS SDK update for developers. SDK 3.0 Beta is chock-full of features that will enable iOS developers to start taking advantage of Apple's newfound relationship with the social network.

During its WWDC keynote last month, Apple announced system-level Facebook integration into both Mac OS X and iOS 6. Not only does this give users an additional outlet to share content, but it also means there will soon be no more need for OAuth...

Apple updates iCloud Beta website with Notes, Reminders and more

Apple rolled out a significant update to its iCloud Beta website last night. The page, which only appears to be accessible by registered developers, now features web versions of Reminders and Notes.

RedSn0w 0.9.13dev2 released to fix SSH issues

The iPhone Dev Team quietly released RedSn0w 0.9.13dev2 to address issues with SSH and app crashes that some users were experiencing.

The developer versions of RedSn0w are for developers wishing to jailbreak their iOS 6 beta installations. Since this version of RedSn0w does not install Cydia, SSH access is imperative, hence the fix for the users experiencing difficulties.

Why you shouldn’t count Apple’s Maps out just yet

The iOS 6 portion of Apple's WWDC keynote last week was headlined by its all new mapping software. As predicted, the company unveiled a completely rebuilt Maps application with 3D city views and other features.

The app is available in the recently-released iOS 6 beta, and so far, it has yet to impress. On top of missing popular features like Street View and transit directions, it also appears to be missing a ton of street data.

But don't count Apple's Maps out just yet...

How to install Cydia on iOS 6 beta

Last week a tethered jailbreak was released for iOS 6 running on the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPod touch 4th generation. While it was great to have a jailbreak so soon, the jailbreak didn't include any GUI tools like Cydia, only SSH and afc2 support were added.

Fortunately, now that we have SSH access, we can transfer and install pretty much anything on our jailbroken iOS 6 devices, including Cydia.
