White iPhone 4S Pops Up in AT&T’s Retail Software

Hold on to your hats folks, Engadget just dropped a bombshell. The tech blog just published a photo it received from a tipster that appears to be of a screen from AT&T's internal retail software.

The screenshot looks like it was taken from the carrier's trouble ticket system, a place where reps can pass issues on to tech support. What's so interesting about the pic? It seemingly outs a new Apple device — the iPhone 4S...

About Those iPhone 5 Cases

It seems as though Case-Mate started a firestorm with its little publicity stunt yesterday. I call it that because whether its depiction of the iPhone 5 was accurate or not, I'm sure the company enjoyed the extra traffic.

The iPhone mockups in Case-Mate's photos looked an awful lot like the iPad 2, and some folks didn't like that. In fact, our very own Jeff wrote a piece about the images. But love 'em or hate 'em, the design can't be too far off. And here's why...

Target Marks iPad 2 as Discontinued, New iPad Coming?

What ever happened to those rumors that claimed Apple would be releasing an iPad 3 (or iPad HD/Pro) this year? For a while there, pundits were claiming that the company was going to unveil a new tablet this Fall, alongside the iPhone 5.

But as with most tech gossip, the new iPad theory eventually lost traction. And then out of no where, TiPb kickstarted the debate again this morning by reporting that Target has been marking the iPad 2 as end of life...

Two New iPhone Models in the Works, iPhone 5 to See Production Delay?

Last night we told you about a report from The New York Times quoting multiple Apple employees that a "fairly different" iPhone 5 was only "just weeks away." The report didn't specifically mention the rumor of Apple announcing two new iPhone models at once, and now 9to5Mac is claiming that there are some interesting developments in the iPhone 5 department.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple is indeed working on two iPhone models, but the iPhone 5 design has seen production delays. While a re-tooled iPhone 4 will be available this Fall, a completely redesigning iPhone 5 won't be seen until early 2012...

Sprint CFO: Our Network is Ready for iPhone Traffic

We've had an inkling for months that Sprint would start offering the iPhone this Fall. Peculiar job listings, leaked memos, and even The Wall Street Journal have all contributed to the theory.

But Sprint itself has been relatively quiet on the subject (at least publicly), until now. Cnet relays comments, picked up by Fierce Wireless, made by the carrier's CFO yesterday in regards to the Sprint-bound iPhone...

Case-Mate Shows Off iPhone 5 Cases, These Could Be the Real Deal [Update]

Hot on the heels of the purported iPhone 5 screen protector surfacing this morning, BGR is reporting that more accessories have turned up in the next-generation iPhone department. Case-maker Case-Mate just unveiled 6 new iPhone 5 cases.

Sure, we've already seen several cases that are reportedly for Apple's next smartphone. But not from a company as well-known as Case-Mate. And the phone design depicted in the pictures is better looking than anything we've seen so far...

iPhone 5 Screen Protector Echoes Redesign Theory

With an official announcement from Apple expected in the next few weeks, the tech world at large still doesn't have any firm knowledge of details regarding the iPhone 5. Tim Cook's team has done an excellent job of concealing their plans.

But outside of concrete information, there has been a lot of purported leaked parts and accessories that all point to a similar redesign. And this morning, another puzzle piece surfaced that appears to confirm the change...

iMessage to Become Part of Mac OS X Lion’s iChat?

When iMessage was first announced by Apple way back in June, we all got very excited. The prospect of replacing SMS with something a little more 21st century appeals to us all, and getting rid of those ridiculous carrier charges is somewhat of a bonus.

What would really make iMessage stand out from most alternatives, and especially SMS, is the ability to send and receive messages from computers, as well as our iPads, iPod touches and iPhones. Currently, that's not possible, though as we've already made clear, other solutions already offer compelling alternatives.

New code discovered in OS X Lion's version of iChat suggests that iMessage may actually be coming to the desktop...

Sprint-Flavored iPad Will be Ready for the Holidays

Sprint has been grabbing some major headlines lately. Most of it has been due to the evidence mounting over the past month or so suggesting that the wireless carrier has finally reached an agreement with Apple Inc. regarding its popular smartphone.

But according to 9to5Mac, the iPhone isn't the only Apple-flavored product that the operator will be offering up this Fall. Apparently, Sprint subscribers will also be able to purchase an iPad with the carrier's data service built-in...

China Telecom Announces “Dragon Plan” to Sell iPhone 5 in October

China's third largest wireless provider has initiated a $234.5 million iPhone 5 promotion called the "Dragon Plan." China Telecom is already training employees and setting up in-store advertising. One store has even set up a large LCD panel promoting the unreleased iPhone 5.

More interestingly, the carrier has already announced that it will begin selling the device in October. This report follows the comment of France Telecom CEO Stéphane Richard yesterday saying that the next gen iPhone would be available to customers on October 15...
