Google+ Local app shutting down next month following Google Maps integration

Google+ Local for iOS, the reincarnation of Google Places, will be pulled from the App Store on August 7th, according to an email from the Mountain View company. The move comes just over one year after the app first launched for iPhones and iPads.

Free Dailymotion Caméra arrives, get downloading

Dailymotion, a French video-sharing website, today released its first video recording application on the App Store. The aptly named Dailymotion Caméra software can be used to capture, edit and share HD clips across Dailymotion's web, mobile and connected video platforms. Featuring the pause/resume recording functionality, the app also includes the obligatory filters, contrast/brightness controls, is flattened and doesn't cost a dime. Google Drive iOS app can now open links in Chrome or Safari

Google is building a nice little ecosystem around Apple's iOS by feverishly updating its iPhone and iPad warez with deep cross-app integration. For example, earlier this month the Internet giant refreshed its Chrome iOS browser with the ability to open URLs for YouTube, Maps, Google+ and Drive in Google’s native iOS apps instead of the browser.

Notably absent from that update: the Google Drive client for the iPhone and iPad. Well, Google saw to that with today's Drive iOS release which can now open links in Google's Chrome or Apple's Safari browser. Google Drive version 1.5 also adds support for inserting rows and columns using the “+” button in Google Sheets...
