Well, the title of the post gave it all away. But yes, according to hotspot provider Boingo, iOS represents as much as 83% of mobile usage in some airports...
Google has finally unveiled its public service for mobile payments called Google Wallet. The NFC-based technology will initially work with select Android devices and participating merchants to give customers the ability to pay with their smartphones.
Short of a South Korean carrier offering an NFC-equipped iPhone case to customers, mobile payment technology has yet to make its name known on the iOS platform. Apple is expected to unveil an iPhone with an embedded NFC chip next year...

You might not know it, but HTC (High Tech Computer) has been around for more than a decade. In its earlier years, the company produced smartphones sporting older versions of Windows Mobile OS.
With the rise of Android in 2009, HTC started to focus on the up-and-coming OS. The move has helped grow the company exponentially over the last few years. In 2010, it also joined in on the Windows Phone 7 party.
But the landscape has changed in the mobile OS industry over the last several months. Microsoft and Nokia have announced a strategic partnership, and then there was Google's Motorola purchase. So where does that leave HTC?
Could Android app downloads soon outpace those of iOS apps from the App Store? According to research done by Ovum research (via CNET), all outlets currently offering Android apps will serve up approximately 8.1 billion downloads this year alone. This is opposed to an estimated 6 billion in the App Store.
It's important to keep in mind, however, that the sheer number of app downloads doesn't necessarily translate to a healthy or profitable ecosystem...
