Yesterday, Apple announced its updated third-generation Apple TV, at a media event in California. The highlighted feature of the new Apple TV, along with its updated UI, is the ability to play 1080p videos. Netflix announced hours later that it will support 1080p streaming to Apple's new device.
But the question comes: is 1080p video really worth it -- over 720p?

Mac users may remember Apple's iSight branding for its standalone and built-in webcams. However in recent years, Apple hasn't used the appellation, replacing it with the FaceTime branding. In January, 131 year old camera company Kodak filed a lawsuit against Apple for violating four patents. Fast forward a month later, Apple went after the already bankrupt Kodak in court, counter suing the company. Apple claimed that Kodak actually stole the patents in question from Apple.

Apple said at the time both products would begin shipping to customers on March 16th. However, due to the excitement over both products, shipping times for both the Apple TV and iPad have slipped, as noted by 9to5mac.
Some models of the iPad have slipped back to March 19th, while the Apple TV has slipped back even further -- now delivering in roughly "1 -2 weeks" for customers that are just pre-ordering...
