Mobile-exclusive Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution 2 arriving July 2

Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution 2, a mobile-exclusive sequel to the original Civilization game, is coming early next month to iOS devices, publishing label 2K Games and developer Fireaxis announced Monday.

The game has been designed from the ground up for mobile devices, unlike the current Civilization Revolution which is basically an iOS (and console) port of the 2008 PC original.

Revolution 2 is slated to launch on July 2 and we'll make sure to tell you all about it as soon as it hits the App Store...

Rumor: TSMC building more durable Touch IDs for 2014 iPhones and iPads

As we previously told you, analysts have been clamoring for Touch ID on this year's iPhones and iPads ever since the fingerprint scanner made its debut last September on the iPhone 5s.

Furthermore, Apple has officially opened up the sophisticated sensor to third-party developers.

The latest from Apple's component suppliers: an improved, more durable Touch ID manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is headed to the next iPhone and iPad. Augmenting Monday's supply chain rumor, another source published an image just yesterday of what appears to be next-generation iPhone, iPad mini and iPad Air devices outfitted with Touch ID...

Two-character messaging app Yo breaks past one million users

Yo, that stupendously simple viral messaging app which lets people exchange ultra-short two-character "Yo" messages, now has over a million users.

The free of charge app, born out of an April Fool's Day joke and released just four days ago as a single-tap zero character communication tool for the iPhone, immediately got featured on the App Store's Top Free charts and is currently sitting at the ninth place...

Amazon updates Instant Video for iOS with First Episode Free, HBO content and more

The online retail giant Amazon has issued a pretty substantial update to its free video-streaming iOS app, Instant Video. Now bumped to version 2.7, the app offers the ability to stream the first episodes of selected TV shows for free, as part of the Amazon First Episode Free feature, with advertising breaks before and during video playback.

Additionally, you'll notice all-new playback controls, the addition of HBO shows such as The Sopranos, The Wire and Deadwood and more...

Foxconn and Pegatron go on hiring sprees as iPhone 6 production ramps up

As the iPhone 6 enters production over the next few months, a new report claims that Apple manufacturing partners Foxconn and Pegatron are in the process of recruiting new employees from mainland China. Foxconn in particular is said to be hiring a record-breaking 100,000 employees to help assemble the smartphone, which could be released in both 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models…

How to access iOS 8’s new ‘Flyover City Tours’ feature in Maps

A few days ago it was reported that a new Maps feature was discovered in the just-released beta (2) of iOS 8 called 'City Tours.' Hidden within secret debug menus of the software, the feature takes users on virtual 3D Flyover tours over major cities.

Grub turns the classic game of ‘Snake’ into something worth playing again
