Not everyone needs a super duper comprehensive getting-things-done list. I may need to be able to schedule out every moment of my day, but it wasn’t always like that. I used to just make lists, which I think is the best way to be the most productive. Sometimes, you need a little bit of both. A solid list-making app can go hand-in-hand with a robust scheduling app. Whether you need something simple, or something complex, we've got a list for you today of what we think are the best to-do apps for iPhone.

Early iPhone 6 case roundup

With the actual product launch behind us, we can turn to the accessory realm. Dedicated devices have been in production behind the scenes and I received information about a few select versions about a week ago. The cases in the post are either going on sale today or by week's end. Either way, the purchasing link is included below the case description.

Keep in mind, early production cases sometimes are not built on actual dimensions, instead using dummy devices that leak from the Chinese supply chain. Having never held any of these in my hands, or even an iPhone 6 for that matter, I cannot guarantee exact fit. However, if you are looking to keep your iPhone protected from day 1, you may want to nab one of these guys.

Web-sling your way to saving the world with Spider-Man Unlimited

Gameloft and Marvel have teamed up again to bring us another web-slinging adventure from the quick-witted Spider-Man. As if we haven’t had enough fun with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man: Total Mayhem.

Spider-Man Unlimited is the first free-to-play Spidey game on iOS. The hand-drawn episodic runner is set in the Marvel Universe where you will hang out with the likes of Nick Fury and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, as well as fight the Green Goblin, Vulture, and more. It is also this week's Editor's Choice in the App Store.

Faces: add images to each of the Lock screen passcode keys

If you love customizing your iOS 7 device, you'd probably be interested in 'Faces', a brand new jailbreak tweak that was released on Cydia recently and offers a fairly unique feature that allows you to customize the passcode keys on the Lock screen.

Developed by Ben Rosen & CPDigitalDarkroom, Faces allows you to customize the Lock screen passcode by adding images to each of the buttons. These images will appear right behind the keys as you can see from the screenshot above.

This is the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with Retina HD display: Putting an end to months of rumors, speculation and analysis, Apple finally showed off its eighth-generation iPhone with higher-resolution 4.7 and 5.5-inch screens, improved cameras, new sensors, a dedicated NFC chip for mobile payments and more.

iPhone 6 pricing, availability and more: Apple’s new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will go on sale in the United States on Friday, September 19, and will start at $199 with a standard two year contract.

Apple seeds iOS 8 GM to developers: As expected, Apple has seeded the GM (or Golden Master) version of iOS 8 to developers ahead of its public September 17th release. Registered developers can grab the new beta from either the online dev portal as a standalone download.

Apple introduces new mobile payment service “Apple Pay”: Apple has been putting together a new mobile payment service. The service involves adding your credit cards to Passbook, and waiving your iPhone in front of what looks like an NFC reader to pay for goods and services in-store.

A few months back, Ustwo launched a unique, surreal puzzle game that was impressive to look at and challenging to play. Monument Valley quickly gained notoriety and gave us all something to swoon. It might have started a new trend in puzzle gaming.

Back to Bed has a similar look and feel, but offers a different type of adventure. In this Salvador Dali-inspired journey, players must guide Bob safely back to his sleeping quarters through control of his apple-toting subconscious.

After months of rumors, speculation, and opinions from the community, Apple finally introduced their latest iteration in the iPhone line – the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. The new, larger smartphones have a completely refined design, making the recently current iPhone 5s already look small and outdated beside it.

Apple hires several tech executives to develop Apple Pay loyalty program

Coming soon after the introduction of its mobile payment system, Apple is hiring several high-profile tech executives from companies including American Express, Google, and PayPal. These new recruits are not only to help expand Apple Pay, the newly-announced method of paying for transactions both online and in retail stores, but to develop a loyalty system for Apple Pay.

This rewards program is reported as offering a free music, TV show, or app download to users after a transaction or number of transactions have been completed using Apple Pay. In this way, the merchant doesn't have to be affected at all, and Apple can work to promote its mobile payment system with an enticing loyalty system.
