Tweetbot developer Tapbots has released Calcbot 2 in the App Store. The intelligent calculator app is now completely free for everyone, has no ads whatsoever and, among other perks, has been revamped from the ground up for iOS 8.
The refresh software brings out a brand new favorites system which replaces the somewhat confusing memory keys, includes an iCloud-sync'd history in portrait mode alongside the calculator and other perks.
Friday, United States wireless carrier Sprint kicked off a new promotion offering customers up to ten lines of shared unlimited talk and text and twelve gigabytes of LTE data in exchange for $90 per month.
Also, the data access charge for phones on the $90 Family Share Pack plan went from $25 to $15.
The aggressively priced plan, Sprint insists, is a better value than comparable offerings from rivals AT&T, Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile. The carrier says the promotion is available until March 12, 2015.
Before I even begin talking about CortexDevTeam's Stratos, let's address the elephant in the room. Let's address the fact that the tweak looks and functions very much like Auxo legacy edition.
Indeed, Stratos takes many cues from Auxo of old, but that's one of the tweak's most appealing assets. There are some, even after two successful iterations, who never quite came around to Auxo 2 and its sequel. Virgin Mobile appears to be getting out of the iPhone business as the handset is no longer available through the carrier's online store nor can any iPhone model be found using the search function, Zac Hall of 9to5Mac reported Friday.

Bloomberg reports that Apple is working to start producing its electric car by 2020, to take on Tesla and other key players in the automotive industry. The report on Thursday follows word from the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and Bloomberg earlier this week that Apple is planning an autonomous vehicle.
Apple announced on Thursday a free replacement program for certain models of the MacBook Pro that have been suffering from graphic card issues, at times making the laptop virtually unusable.
The replacement program, that begins on February 20 in the US and February 27 in other regions, covers the 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pro models manufactured in 2011 and the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina models manufactured from mid-2012 to early-2013.
Electric car battery maker A123 Systems filed a lawsuit against Apple earlier this month for poaching its employees, reports Law360. The company says the Cupertino firm began an "aggressive campaign" around June of last year to recruit some of its most critical staffers for a new large-scale battery division.
This directly violates the company's noncompete and nondisclosure agreements, says A123 Systems, and the poaching has resulted in a substantial loss of investment and left them scrambling to find replacements. It's asking the court for undisclosed damages and a 1-year order, barring them from moving.
