iMovie for Mac gains Photos for OS X integration

iMovie, Apple's consumer-level software for editing video bundled free with every new Mac sold, has been refreshed today with support for the upcoming Photos for OS X application, which launches later this year.

With Photos for OS X integration, iMovie users can add photos to their projects by browsing their Moments, Collections, Favorites and Albums that have been stored in Photos for Mac, without leaving iMovie.

Apple Watch: everything we know so far

Speculation has surrounded Apple Watch for years – far back into the technological dark ages when it was referred to as 'iWatch' – but, despite being exceedingly more enlightened at present, we still don't know everything about Apple's long-awaited wearable.

That will change on Monday when Apple's 'Spring Forward' event goes live, at which time more information about Apple Watch is expected to release, including prices and additional features. After the event, those attending will likely be able to go hands-on with an array of fully functioning Apple Watches in the white structure going up beside the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.

The team at iDownloadBlog will be covering the keynote as it happens, per usual. Until then, however, tech and fashion enthusiasts must occupy themselves with the facts given us by Apple and leaks from other sources. As a result, we've compiled everything we know and think we know about Apple Watch.

24 tweaks you should check out today

The weekend nears its end, but there is a very exciting week ahead of us, with Apple officially launching Apple Watch at a special event tomorrow. For those of you who can't wait for the big event, we have gathered a bunch of tweaks that were recently released on Cydia to help you pass time.

For each tweak that we did cover on iDB, we added a link to Jeff's full video review. Enjoy!

Apple Watch app icons wallpapers for iPhone, iPad, and desktop

Tomorrow, Apple pulls off the veil on Apple Watch final details. With the "Spring Forward" event, several years of speculation finally come to a point. Last week, several final pieces of information were leaked, but many more questions still remain.

Apple stands to completely disrupt the wearable device category, as it has done with both iPhone and iPad. While other competitors have the early jump, it could be possible for Apple Watch to become the new standard, to which all future wearable technologies are benchmarked. To celebrate, add these wallpapers today.

How to sort notifications by arrival time in Notification Center on Mac

I have to admit that I'm not a huge user of Notification Center, and this applies to both iOS and the Mac. One of the reasons that I'm turned off by Notification Center is the disarray that I see when viewing it.

By default, Notification Center is set to sort manually, which means that you can go into its preferences, and sort each app by hand. That's fine and all, but it makes for a less than ideal experience when trying to find the most relevant notifications based on time of arrival.

For me, this results in a less than ideal experience when opening Notification Center. If you have a lot of apps enabled for Notifications, it can be overwhelming, because there's no real logical order to the way they're sorted. To remedy this issue, try this simple tip, and sort your notifications by time of arrival instead.

Banks becoming more stringent on Apple Pay sign-ups following fraud

The Wall Street Journal reports that many banks are becoming more strict on the sign-up process for adding cards to Apple Pay, as many crooks are loading stolen credit cards on the mobile payment system found on the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and soon Apple Watch.

While the Apple Pay system isn't actively creating fraud, criminals who already have stolen credit cards are able to easily load them to the mobile wallet due to lax procedures and are able to use them in-stores, evading authorities.
