Languinis review: a mash up of match-three and word games

I love playing word games, like Scrabble or Words with Friends. I also have a soft spot in my heart for the simplicity of mindless match-three games. So, it is only logical that I’d be drawn to a game that combines them both.

Languinis is a match-three word game that is both charming and entertaining. It appeals to puzzle gamers in two different genres. We’ve got a full game review of Languinis for you today.

Hide your credit cards inside the Stowaway iPhone 6 case

When you head out to the bar, or run up to the store for some bread, you don’t necessarily need everything in your wallet. Sometimes, you just want the necessities; ID, credit card, and maybe your health insurance info if you are prone to mishaps.

Incipio’s Stowaway case for iPhone 6 is the perfect case to store your cards and keep your pockets free so you can keep more important things in them, like quarters for the laundromat.

Review: tmbr wallet case for iPhone 6 Plus

Yesterday, the folks at tmbr sent over a couple of iPhone 6 Plus cases for my inspection. To be honest, I've never been a big fan of reviewing cases unless they do something particularly well. In fact, I've received tons of cases over the years, but I can count on one hand how many I've actually taken the time to review.

In other words, if you see me reviewing a case, then it must be pretty special. I wasn't exactly sure if I'd even bother reviewing the tmbr case, but after testing it out for just five minutes, I just knew I had to share the experience with you.

Typo gives up on iPhone, announces $189 iPad keyboard case

Following its recent settlement with BlackBerry that forbids it from making iPhone keyboards, the embattled Typo announced today that it is launching a new keyboard case for the iPad. It costs $189, and is available for the iPad Air and Air 2, and soon the iPad mini 1,2 and 3.

For those who missed the news Monday, the Ryan Seacrest-backed Typo said it would no longer sell its flagship iPhone keyboard case. It had been sued by BlackBerry over the case multiple times for design infringement, and it finally decided to give up and focus on tablets.

Reminders Nano is the app Apple should have shipped with Apple Watch

Several first-party apps are noticeably missing from Apple Watch, with Reminders and Podcasts being probably the most obvious. I'm confident Apple will bring these apps to Apple Watch sooner than later, but we're left dealing with workarounds and third-party apps to fill our needs for the time being.

Reminders Nano is one of these apps that picks up where Apple left off. Bringing a comprehensive yet simple reminders app to Apple Watch, Reminders Nano looks like something Apple itself would have shipped.

Pebble Time smartwatch begins shipping, but iOS app remains in limbo

Pebble's new 'Time' smartwatch has begun shipping to early Kickstarter backers, but the iOS companion app that allows users to connect the device to an iPhone is no where to be found. It appears the app is stuck in limbo in Apple's review process.

In an update posted to their Kickstarter page today, Pebble said that its Pebble Time app has been showing a status of 'In Review' since May 22nd and it's given no indication on what is taking so long. The typical review process lasts around 7-10 days.

NYT: no new Apple TV at WWDC

Apple has apparently decided to postpone the announcement of a new Apple TV at WWDC next week, according to The New York Times. In a sweeping report on what to expect from the annual developer's conference, the publication says the highly anticipated refresh of Apple's set-top box is no longer in the cards for Monday's keynote.

Noir expresses dark minimalism in this clean and simple theme

There is a lot of themes in Cydia, many of which don't get as much attention as they might deserve. A lot of hard work goes into the thought process of creating a coherent design. It has to make sense and look good.

Noir, by Roberto Alvarez (@0phicleide) was born out of his desire to have a clean-looking minimalist theme that would be updated regularly. He started out theming the icons for free tweaks at first, and has plans on moving to paid apps as they're requested.

Camera+ for iPhone unveils Apple Watch remote app and selfie widget button

If Camera+ by Taptaptap is your daily driver when it comes to iPhone photography, you must have been yearning for a companion Apple Watch app, right? I know I have. Tankfully, today's update saw to that.

Camera+ 6.3 for iPhone adds a pair of interesting improvements. The first, as I mentioned, is a companion app for your Apple Watch for controlling Camera+ on your iPhone remotely, similar to the device's built-in Camera Remote application.

The other addition enhances the app's widget, injecting a handy selfie widget button into iOS 8's Notification Center.

Google Drive receives Material Design overhaul with faster scrolling, syncing and image viewing

Google on Wednesday issued a version 4.0 update to its free of charge Google Drive for iOS application in the App Store. The first thing you'll notice is a brand new design which follows Material Design guidelines set forth by Google itself.

In addition to a cleaned-up interface, other changes in Google Drive 4.0 for iPhone and iPad include much faster syncing of your files, as well as image viewing.

Scrolling performance has been improved, too, and they've finally implemented iOS's standard swipe gesture to go back.
