Soon after the Electra Team updated its jailbreak with support for tihmstar’s new v1ntex exploit, the Sileo Team came forward with an update for the beta preview of the Sileo package manager – an alternative to Cydia.
A Tweet shared Thursday by the Sileo Team denotes how the newest update adds support for the latest dpkg (version 1.19.4) for package installation (themes, tweaks, etc.):
Facebook today released a compatibility update to its mainland mobile app on App Store, adding native display support for the 6.1-inch iPhone XR, the 6.5-inch iPhone XS Max and the new iPad Pros.
It didn’t take long after tihmstar released his voucher_swap-like v1ntex exploit with support for 4K devices, for the Electra Team to roll out an update to Electra with official support for A7[X] and A8[X] devices. Version 1.2.3 is now the latest iteration of Electra available to the public.
The Electra Team made the announcement on Twitter Thursday morning, explaining that they had replaced tihmstar’s threadm1ll exploit with the v1ntex variety for A7[X] and A8[X] devices, a move that makes Electra universally-supported among all devices running iOS 11.0-11.4.1:
Taiwanese contract manufacturer Compal Electronics is expected to build Apple's fifth-generation iPad mini tablet that should arrive "later in 2019".
Just a couple of days ago, security researcher Brandon Azad released his voucher_swap exploit for 16K devices (A9[X], A10[X], A11[X]), but the exploit didn’t support 4K devices (A7[X], A8[X]), resulting in some devices being unsupported by the recent updates to the Electra and unc0ver jailbreaks.
On a more positive note, hacking guru tihmstar seems to have a solution. Thursday morning, he Tweeted his version of the voucher_swap exploit, subtly named v1ntex. Astonishingly, the exploit supports 4K devices, whereas Brandon Azad’s exploit did not:

If there’s one thing about jailbreaking my iOS devices that stands out to me most, it’s being able to customize the look and feel of iOS outside of Apple’s stock parameters. Fortunately, there’s no shortage of jailbreak tweaks that can do this, and new ones are seemingly being released every day.
In this piece, we’ll take a closer look at Colorful Widgets, a new free release by iOS developer Mateusz Morawski that colorizes your iPhone or iPad’s widgets with a whole host of different options.
Despite the relatively small number of redecorations the Cydia app has received over the last several years, it continues to be a reliable package manager today. Fortunately, Saurik (Jay Freeman) empowered developers to tweak and modify the Cydia app under Cydia Substrate starting in 2015.
Given the circumstances, the ball is very much in the jailbreak community’s court to make Cydia look and behave differently than it does out of the box, and that’s exactly what a free jailbreak tweak called CellDia by iOS developer Julio Verne attempts to accomplish as you’re about to witness.
Wednesday saw two separate jailbreak tools (Electra and unc0ver) pick up support for iOS 11.4.x, so one might be inclined to say that it’s been a decent day for the jailbreak community. But wait… there’s more!
Wednesday evening, hacker and software tinkerer @Geosn0w announced the release of an incomplete ‘developer-only jailbreak’ for iOS 12.0-12.1.2 dubbed OsirisJailbreak12. The work was made possible by the tfp0 exploit that was just recently unleashed by security researcher Brandon Azad:
This year's followup to iPhone XS Max is expected to have a triple-lens camera while other 2019 handsets could eventually come with the upgraded system, but 2020 will bring substantial iPhone camera innovations in a major augmented reality push.
Apple is expected to release followups to the current iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max sporting better cameras, with an iPhone XS Max successor rocking a triple-lens system.
