The Misaka package manager app received another update Tuesday to v3.2.5, just one day after implementing a kfd exploit-based installation method for TrollStore 2 on iOS & iPadOS 16.0-16.6 beta 1 devices.
The XinaA15 jailbreak made a comeback this past weekend after being updated to version 2.0 and picking up a new jailbreak method heavily inspired by Linus Henze’s Fugu15 rootful jailbreak for developers.
TrollStore 2 officially released on Monday, bringing application perma-signing capabilities to a whole bunch of newer devices running iOS & iPadOS 15.5-16.6.1 and 17.0. The previous generation of TrollStore already supported iOS & iPadOS 14.0-15.4.1, so today’s update is a refreshing one that gives more users access to powerful features Apple doesn’t want them to have.
It would seem that Misaka isn’t the only package manager app providing an easy way to install the TrollStore 2 perma-signing utility on iPhones and iPads running iOS & iPadOS 16. Picasso, a popular jailed toolbox for installing add-ons and tweaks for non-jailbroken arm64e (A12+) devices running iOS & iPadOS 16.0-16.6 beta 1 via the kfd exploit, has now done the same.
It was a big day for a lot of iPhone and iPad owners as iOS developer Lars Fröder (@opa334dev) officially released a much-anticipated TrollStore 2 with support for firmware newer than iOS & iPadOS 15.4.1 for the first time. But as we touched on in our announcement post, there wasn’t yet a way for all device and firmware combinations to install it, but Misaka developer @straight_tamago has just made it easier, at least for some.
TrollStore, the perma-signing utility that took iOS & iPadOS 14.0-15.4.1 by storm, received an update on Monday to version 2.0 with substantial changes, including the implementation of a new CoreTrust bug known as CVE-2023-41991 that adds support for iOS & iPadOS 15.5-16.6.1 and 17.0.
If you haven’t already heard, the XinaA15 jailbreak has made a substantial comeback. XinaA15 v2 launched on Sunday, November 26th in what can only be described as a complete re-write that makes use of Linus Henze’s Fugu15 Rootful developer jailbreak, kfd exploitation, and other goodies that make it leaps and bounds better than the original XinaA15 jailbreak.
If you’ve been following jailbreaking in the past year, then you’ve undoubtedly heard about the XinaA15 jailbreak. It was around long before Dopamine was and supported iOS & iPadOS 15.0-15.1.1 devices, but it used arguably hacky methods to maintain a rootful-like user experience that eventually earned it deprecation in the community due to the community moving full-force over to rootless.
The world is a very busy place, but you can count on the staff at iDB to bring you the latest jailbreak tweak releases and iPhone hacking news as it happens for the sake of using your iPhone or iPad to its highest potential.
The Dopamine jailbreak tool for A12-A15 devices running iOS & iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1 is the single latest jailbreak available for any device newer than the iPhone X at this point in time. Having said that, it’s no surprise that it’s a popular choice for jailbreakers today.
It’s no surprise that you can use the Lock Screen editing capabilities of iOS 16 to change the font of your date and time display, but it’s also true that the list of fonts Apple gives you to pick from are quite limited.
The RootHide jailbreak detection bypass for the Dopamine jailbreak just received an update to version 1.0.7 Monday afternoon, and not only a few hours later, Dopamine jailbreak lead developer Lars Fröder released an updated version of the Dopamine jailbreak.
