Apple Working on a Television

Even though I love my Apple TV, I sometimes wonder what an actual Apple Television would be. Am I going to find out sooner than later? It appears so with this job position posted on Apple's website.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on the forefront of new power management designs and technologies with the exemplary company consistently bringing innovations in the industry. In this position, you will be part of pride developing innovative designs, which are implemented in products used by millions of people. The position primarily involves high-density offline power supply’s development for Apple’s next generation Macintosh platforms spanning from notebook computers, desktop computers, servers, standalone displays and TV.

I'm sure we're still a few years away from seeing an Apple Television but this is still very good news.

iPhone Nano Caught on TV

There are all sorts of rumors that Apple is working on an iPhone nano. Ellen found out it's true, and got her hands on the new device, which has some surprising features.

Ok guys, I'm not fan of Ellen at all but I wanted to give her props for coming up with this short, yet funny segment on her show about the rumored iPhone Nano...

White iPhone 4 Coming Soon?

When will the white iPhone 4 be available? That's the eternal question that hopefully will get an answer sooner rather than later. Maybe even sooner than we thought. If you go to Vodafone UK's website right now, you can see an iPhone 4 in white color labeled as "coming soon".

So what is this? A marketing stunt from Vodafone to get a little attention, or a clear sign that the unicorn white iPhone 4 is right around the corner? Your guess is as good as mine...

Verizon iPhone Hacked to Work in China

You technically can't use a CDMA iPhone in China but according to this WSJ article, a few China Telecom employees managed to get the Verizon iPhone to make its first call from China.

The group of hackers that call themselves the Apple Lab Team posted this image of a Verizon iPhone on a Twitter-like site in China, commenting that the "CDMA iPhone 4 has made its first call in China"...

Verizon iPhone Sales Lower Than Expected

I'm not going to say that I told you so, but you know, I kinda did. One of BGR's sources at Apple shared some interesting numbers about Verizon iPhone sales on its first week, and apparently, the numbers are lower than both Apple and Verizon anticipated.

If that's any indication of the sales trend, BGR's source states that there were about 550,000 iPhone 4 pre-ordered between Verizon and Apple and maybe even more interesting are the sales numbers for 5 Apple Store combined on the first week, including 2 major stores (most likely including the iconic Apple Store on Fifth avenue)...

Sn0wBreeze Jailbreak for iPhone 4.2.1 is Out

Looks like the main jailbreak devs talked to each other today to release their jailbreak tools altogether around the same time. About an hour after the Dev Team announced the release of their PwnageTool jailbreak for iPhone 4.2.1, and now iH8Sn0w is releasing Sn0wBreeze 2.2.

Just like PwnageTool, Sn0wBreeze is a jailbreak tool that allows you to update your iPhone to the latest firmware, and jailbreak while preserving your baseband and your ability to unlock...

How to Jailbreak iPhone 4.2.1 with PwnageTool

The Dev Team just released PwnageTool 4.2, a jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 for iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 4 (AT&T and Verizon), as well as the iPad, Apple TV, and iPod Touch 3G and 4G.

PwnageTool will allow you to jailbreak your iPhone on the latest iOS 4.2.1 while preserving its baseband, thus allowing you to unlock with UltraSn0w, assuming you are still on baseband 01.59.00.

This step by step guide will show you how to jailbreak your iPhone 4.2.1 with PwnageTool, a Mac-only jailbreak for iPhone...

Dev Team Releases PwnageTool Jailbreak for iPhone 4.2.1

The Dev Team just released an updated version of their famous Mac jailbreak, PwnageTool 4.2. This new version of PwnageTool allows you to update your iPhone to a newer firmware while preserving your baseband. PwnageTool is the only jailbreak tool to let you do that, even though there are manual ways to update while preserving the baseband using TinyUmbrella.

In short, PwnageTool is unlockers' favorite jailbreak as it allows to keep the unlock alive while still updating the iOS.

The Dev Team was able to make a few improvements to PwnageTool, notably a fix for the iBooks problem we reported this morning...

Wanna See What a 4-Inch Display Would Look Like on an iPhone 5?

Earlier today we reported there were rumors going around the web claiming that the iPhone 5 might come with a 4-inch screen, increasing from the current 3.5-inch display. When I first read about that, I really wondered what it could look like. Then the fine folks at 9to5Mac came up with a mockup of a 4-inch display applied to the iPhone 4 hardware.

The result as you can see is not very pretty. The screen goes all the way to the edge and the size of the home button has to be reduced to fit. Following rumors from last month, Apple could even go as far as removing the home button altogether...

Apple to Customers: “You Don’t Have to Hold it Wrong Anymore”

If you're in the US and go to Apple's website right now, you'll probably going to be greeted by the image of 2 iPhones: the AT&T one, and the newly released Verizon iPhone. If you have a closer look at this image, you can see that the position of the hand is different from one phone to the other.

The hand barely touches the AT&T iPhone, whereas it is fully gripping the Verizon iPhone. So, is Apple trying to tell us something?

An iPhone 5 with a Slideout Keyboard?

tw.Apple.pro, a Taiwanese website that has a pretty good track record of publishing leaked information about Apple products, claims today that Cupertino has been evaluating 3 different hardware prototypes of the iPhone 5, one of them including a slideout keyboard.

A second prototype apparently would be what the iPhone 3GS was to the iPhone 3G: a similar-looking but improved model. This version of the iPhone 5 would be the same as the iPhone 4, but would have a bigger battery and an improved camera lens...
