UltraSn0w Unlock for iPhone 4.3.1 Will Be Released Tonight

After recently releasing their jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1 via PwnageTool and RedSn0w, the Dev Team is now getting ready to unleash their UltraSn0w unlock.

The current 4.3.1-compatible UltraSn0w is currently being tested by a few beta testers, and according to a tweet by Dev Team front man MuscleNerd, if everything goes well, UltraSn0w should be released tonight...

Jailbreak iPhone 4.3.1 with RedSn0w [Tutorial]

After weeks of anticipation, the Dev Team released a jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1 tonight, thanks to iPhone hacker i0n1c. This jailbreak will work with iPhone 4G, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G, and the second generation of Apple TV.

In this step by step guide and tutorial, we will show you how to jailbreak your iPhone 4.3.1 using RedSn0w. RedSn0w is a jailbreak that works both for Mac and Windows. Unlike PwnageTool, RedSn0w updates your baseband, so this is probably your preferred jailbreak method if you don't rely on an unlock....

The Dev Team just released a jailbreak for iPhone iOS 4.3.1, compliments of hacker i0n1c. This jailbreak will work with the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G, iPad 1, and Apple TV 2nd generation.

In this tutorial, we will show you how to use PwnageTool to jailbreak your iPhone 4.3.1 while preserving your baseband. PwnageTool is a Mac only tool and is the only way to preserve your baseband to make sure you can unlock later on...

Dev Team Releases Jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1

It's here, folks. After weeks of anticipation, the Dev Team just released an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1. This jailbreak is mostly due to the untether exploit found by i0n1c.

This jailbreak works with every device that supports iOS 4.3.1, except for the iPad 2. So to be clear, this jailbreak will work with the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G, and the second generation of Apple TV...

MuscleNerd Confirms the Gevey SIM iPhone 4 Unlock is Illegal

We recently told you about the Gevey SIM interposer, a TurboSIM-like piggy back sim card that allows you to unlock any iPhone 4. When we first wrote about it, we raised concerns about the legality of this method, and warned you that your carrier might not like you using this.

Today, MuscleNerd confirmed that the Gevey SIM is indeed illegal in the US and most likely in other countries because it dials the 112 emergency number and hangs up right away...

Apple Really Doesn’t Want You to Use Cydia in Their Stores

If you connect to an Apple Store wifi network and try to go to Cydia, you'll get a nice little surprise. Instead of loading Cydia as it is supposed to do, you will be redirected to Apple's own website.

I think it's kind of a funny way for Apple to let you know they're watching you and won't let you pwn them in their own store...

Reminder: Jailbreaks & Unlockers Should Stay Away from iOS 4.3.1

A friendly reminder to all our friends that jailbreak and/or unlock their iPhones. As we reported earlier today, Apple released iOS 4.3.1. If you care about your jailbreak and your unlock, do not update to iOS 4.3.1.

There is no jailbreak or unlock for iOS 4.3.1 yet, so if you update to the latest firmware version, you will lose your ability to jailbreak. Most of you already know that but jailbreak novices might not be aware of the situation...

The iPhone as the World’s Most Popular Camera [Infographic]

"Every once in a while a revolutionary product comes along that changes everything". That's what Steve Jobs said minutes before introducing the first iPhone to the world. Boy was he right. In just about 4 years, the iPhone became the most popular phone in the world, but did you know it also became the most popular camera?

The guys at geekaphone put together this infographic that shows how the iPhone became the most popular camera in the world...

Final Fantasy III Arrives in the App Store

A quick news for the gamers out there. Final Fantasy III finally made its way to the iPhone and is now available for the hefty price of $15.99.

First released 21 years ago, Final Fantasy III was the first title in the Final Fantasy series to become a million-seller, establishing once and for all that Square Enix's classic RPG saga was here to stay...

App Denied from App Store Makes Its Way to Cydia

The Tawkon app would have probably gone unnoticed in the App Store, but not being approved by Apple in the first place is probably the best thing that ever happened to it.

The developer of the app had been in contact with Apple executives who apparently loved the app. Everything looked fine until they got an email from Apple saying their app couldn't be approved.

The dev emailed Steve Jobs about it, asking why the app wasn't approved, to which Steve replied "No interest". Clear enough! So the developer decided to bring his app to Cydia...

Xpandr is Back in my Top 5 Favorite Jailbreak Apps

I've talked about Xpandr before, the jailbreak app that allows you to create shortcuts, a la TextExpander. When iOS 4 came up, it seems that Xpandr didn't support it right away, which led me to remove it from my iPhone, or rather not install it when a jailbreak for iOS 4 came out. Up until now, I was using TextExpander which is great but is supported by very few apps in iOS.

Yesterday, while I was calling for a dev to create a jailbreak tweak to integrate TextExpander to any iOS application, I was quickly reminded by several of you of the existence of Xpandr, so I installed it again, and to my great surprise, I realized it was working with iOS 4. The love story started all over again...

Geohot Flees the Country in the Heat of Sony’s Lawsuit [Update: No, He Didn’t Flee]

I know this is not directly related to anything iPhone but I thought the news was important enough to report here on iDB. According to The Escapist, Geohot fled the country and is currently in South America.

In case you didn't know, Geohot is currently being sued by Sony for jailbreaking the PlayStation 3, and even though he pretends to be confident about the situation, he is clearly feeling the heat coming from the Japanese electronics giant...
