The iPhone 5 64GB ships to AT&T in 24 hours

I just got back from a trip to my AT&T Store where I went to exchange my black iPhone 5 for the white version. I've actually tried to exchange my black iPhone 5 since I received it. For the last 3 weeks, I went pretty much every single day to my AT&T Store asking if they had received any iPhone 5. For the last 3 weeks, I was told the same answer: "no, sorry, we haven't received anything".

Today, one smart AT&T employee finally realized I had been coming every day for three weeks and told me that I didn't have to physically come and check, as I could simply order an iPhone from the store. You'd think they would have offered this solution before, but that's another problem that we won't even bother addressing here.

I was then directed to an AT&T employee who processed my order/return. Without much hope, I figured the AT&T employee  probably didn't know anything about time frames and delivery estimates, but to my surprise, he said that because I am ordering a 64GB iPhone 5, it will ship within 24 hours.

Wait, what? 24 hours, as in one day? How is this possible when Apple's own website tells me that any iPhone 5 model ships in 3-4 weeks?

This is the best screen protector for your iPhone 5

A few months ago, I reviewed the GLAS.t for iPhone 4S. At the time, I believed it to be the best screen protector for iPhone. Fast forward to this date, and I still have yet to see a better alternative to protect the screen of your iPhone.

If the iPhone has changed since my original GLAS.t review, something that hasn't changed is the quality and reliability of the screen protector. The folks at Spigen SGP are pretty smart. They know I love their products so they sent me a GLAS.t for iPhone 5 for review. Spoiler alert: it's 99% positive...

Unsurprisingly, Foxconn denies claims of strikes in iPhone 5 production line

We reported yesterday about a strike going on at Foxconn, the maker of the iPhone and virtually any electronics in the world. The report originated from advocacy group China Labor Watch, claimed that three to four thousand workers went on strike because of unreasonable demands from Foxconn asking its employees to work during the national holiday, but also because it raised the bar for quality standards without properly training its work force.

Foxconn was however quick at denying the news when it sent a statement to Reuters, basically explaining that everything is good in this perfect and beautiful world...

Remembering Steve

I will always remember where I was when I heard the news that Steve Jobs had passed away, a year ago today. I was sitting in a meeting with four other board members of my Homeowner Association. The news felt like a bad joke. Something that couldn't be true. The writing had been on the walls for months, if not years, yet, I found it impossible to believe.

It actually took me a few weeks to process the news and cope with the death of the man who not only had shaped an important part of my life, but had also shaped and changed the lives of millions of people around the world.

The tale of my three days at the epicenter of the jailbreak community

I went to JailbreakCon full of good intentions. I was going to live tweet the event, I was going to write posts about every speak, and I was going to interview as many speakers as I could. As it turned out, I did none of that. Instead, I soaked in as much as I could from everyone around me. I did what I hadn't done for a long time: I socialized!

When I say that I socialized, I'm not saying that I pretended to be friends with some people I mostly knew on Twitter. No, I actually lived with these people for three days, learned about their lives, their habits, and their personality. I learned about the real "them", not the image they sometimes give of them on Twitter or IRC.

This is the story of my three days at the epicenter of the jailbreak community. You won't learn anything here about the iOS 6 jailbreak, because what happens at JailbreakCon stays at JailbreakCon, but hopefully, you will get a glimpse a the other side of the jailbreak community...
