GridTab for Safari Improves the Tab Experience in Mobile Safari

We've covered it in the past, but GridTab for Safari was recently updated with iOS 5 compatibility, so we thought it was a great time to bring you a video walkthrough of this exceptional tweak.

The purpose of GridTab is simple — to improve the tabbed browsing experience in Mobile Safari. Does it achieve its goal in doing so? Check inside for the answer...

‘Automatic Dictation’ Brings a Siri-Like Experience to Your iPhone

It's not Siri. In fact, it's not even close. Yet, you still may find it interesting enough to give it a shot, especially if you're already a user of Voice Activator.

Automatic Dictation is essentially a meshing together of Voice Activator and Dragon Dictation. It basically allows you to (almost) use Dragon Dictation completely handsfree. It even allows you to send tweets directly from your dictation screen.

In the end, it's a very clunky semi-hand-free solution that works, but it's definitely no Siri...

iLaunch Thunder: Launch Nerf Darts Via Your iPhone’s Bluetooth Connection [Updated]

In need of a great conversation piece for your desk? Look no further than the iLaunch Thunder from Dream Cheeky.

The iLaunch Thunder allows you to launch Nerf-styled darts via a rotatable base using nothing more than your iDevice, its Bluetooth connection, and the free iLaunch Controller app downloadable from the App Store.

In our tests, the iLaunch Thunder worked just as advertised, though it is pretty pricey at around $100. But that's okay, we're giving this one away...

Siri Jailbreak Tweak Promises SBSettings-Like Experience

I've always thought something like this will be a good idea, and it will come to fruition as soon as an iPhone 4S jailbreak is released.

While the circumstances around an iPhone 4S jailbreak are still a tad sketchy, what's clear as day is that this tweak would be ridiculously handy, and should have been a native Siri feature to begin with.

Essentially, this allows you to control various toggles like Wi-Fi connection, bluetooth, etc. using only your voice. e.g. "Turn Wi-Fi on", "Set the backlight level to 60%", and pretty much anything else you'd normally be able to toggle with SBSettings.

Diary of an iPhone Blogger: Celeste

It was one of the most hyped jailbreak tweaks of all time. It promised to do wonders for the way we share files between our iPhone's and other devices. In the end, it's almost completely forgotten, and hasn't even been updated to support iOS 5.

I'm of course talking about Celeste: the Bluetooth file sharing tweak that amassed amazing levels of hype and fanfare before arriving with the impact of a pin-drop in the middle of a grassy football field.

New iOS 5.0.1 Release Makes iPhone 4 Siri Port Legally Feasible

You may have noticed that Apple released an updated version of iOS 5.0.1 not too long ago, and with it comes some interesting news regarding security.

It appears that the new iOS 5.0.1r2 features decrypted ramdisks, which means that it now possible to write a script to download the 5.0.1 and extract the necessary files needed for a Siri port.

Since the download is publicly available from Apple's server, the idea of a Siri port just got a lot more legal...

Flashy Status: Be Alerted When Your iPhone’s Flash is On

The concept of Flashy Status is a good one: make it more evident when your flash might fire when snapping a photo with your iPhone's camera.

It accomplishes this by illuminating the 'On' button on the Camera app's flash settings with green. You can either make it a solid green, or a more visible flashing green.

And while I suppose this is nice to have, there's one key feature missing from this tweak that keeps it from being really useful...

Why Every Jailbreak Power User Needs iFile

iFile — you've most likely heard of it, but do you use it? If you've ever used a Mac, then you're familiar with Finder, and if you're familiar with Finder, than you're familiar with iFile.

iFile is essentially the iOS version of Finder, or Explorer for Windows. But for jailbreakers, there's a lot more here than meets the eye. Check inside for a video walkthrough accompanied by a good list of reasons as to why you should be using iFile.

Invoke iOS 5’s Native Twitter By Means of an App Icon Shortcut

As if there weren't already plenty of options to invoke iOS 5's native Twitter integration. This time, the method is by means of a handy app icon conveniently placed on your iOS device's Home screen.

We already have standalone shortcuts, Activator options, and now Twicon — a standalone app icon that acts a shortcut directly to iOS 5's Twitter popup panel...

TubeCenter: Add YouTube to Notification Center

TubeCenter — as its name might allude to — is a tweak that allows you to place a YouTube widget in iOS 5's Notification Center.

The only problem with this tweak, is that it lacked any keyboard support — at least it did during my initial testing.

Once it's updated with the proper keyboard support, fans of YouTube could find this tweak useful. Check out our synopsis inside...

How to Display Album Art in Your App Switcher

AlbumArt on AppSwitcher, a new jailbreak tweak available for free on Cydia, isn't the most elegantly named tweak out there.

But where its name may seem complex, its function is as simple as it gets. AlbumArt on AppSwitcher replaces the music icon that resides in your App Switcher with the album art of the tunes playing in your Music app.

Check inside for a video walkthrough of it in action.
