Apple Expected to Sell 4 Million Apple TVs This Year

Apple has long described its Apple TV as a "hobby." And with sales of the set-top box not reaching anywhere near the numbers of Apple's other iOS devices, that makes perfect sense.

But even though Apple treats it like a side project, the Apple TV has done fairly well. A new report suggests that Apple's media hub has captured nearly a third of the market.

Last week we reported that Walter Isaacson's recently-released Steve Jobs biography had reached a major milestone on Amazon. In less than two months on the market, the book has become the online retailer's best-selling title of 2011.

After making a few adjustments, Amazon re-released its list of top 10 books today. The company figured that, since Kindle e-books outsell hard covers, they should be included in the counting. Where does the Steve Jobs biography rank now?

Apple Releases iTunes 10.5.2 With iTunes Match Fixes

Apple is obviously aware of the issue and has just released an update to the service by way of iTunes 10.5.2. The new software claims that it contains fixes for both iTunes Match and a known CD-related audio distortion problem.

What Apple Thinks Samsung’s Tablet Should Have Looked Like

A little over a week ago, court documents surfaced regarding the ongoing patent war between Apple and Samsung. The two companies have been locked in courtroom battles all over the world since Apple filed its trademark infringement suit earlier this year.

Apple's argument has been that Samsung's products look extremely similar to its own devices, particularly its tablets. This was especially evident in the leaked court documents that included tips from Apple on how Samsung should've made its Galaxy Tab.

Apple Pulls Fake ID-Creation App Due to Complaints

Reports are coming in this morning that Apple has just removed Drivers License from the App Store. The software allowed iPhone and iPod touch users to easily create digital fake IDs by inserting photos into authentic-looking state drivers licenses.

Drivers License has been in the App Store for over two years. According to the Coalition for a Secure Driver's License, Apple has decided to pull the software in response to a recent letter it has received from US Senator Bob Casey.

Apple Looking to Expand Bluetooth Support in iOS

Other than a handful of stereo receivers and standalone speakers, there aren't many AirPlay-compatible accessories on the market. Manufacturers haven't really adopted Apple's wireless technology like the company had hoped it would.

So it's no surprise that Macotakara, a Japanese blog known for leaking Apple information, is reporting that the company is looking to rethink wireless connectivity in iOS. The company is now apparently showing a deep interest in Bluetooth.
