The Automee S: a tiny robot that cleans iPhone and iPad screens

Raise your hand if you like robots. Ok, now raise your hand if you hate cleaning the fingerprints and debris off of your iPhone and iPad screens. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a product out there that combined these two things?

Believe it or not, there is. Meet the Automee S, a tiny, round, Roomba-like robot that's built to automatically clean the screen of your smartphone or tablet in a matter of minutes. We've got a video of it in action after the fold...

The exodus continues: Home Depot drops BlackBerry for iPhone

It hasn't even been a week since we reported that Australia's Treasury Department would be trading in their BlackBerry devices for iPhones, and there's already a new story on the Canadian handset-maker losing another major enterprise customer.

The word is that Home Depot, a home improvement retail chain and the 5th largest retailer in the world, is also looking to drop their BlackBerrys in favor of Apple's popular smartphone. And the account is a big one, worth over 10,000 handsets...

4chan founder releases community-based iPad app ‘DrawQuest’

Looking around the collection of image boards known as 4chan, it's hard to believe that the same person responsible for creating that, also created the app you see above. But it's true, this is 4chan founder Chris Poole's latest project: DrawQuest.

The premise of the app is pretty simple. Users are given daily 'drawing quests,' where they are asked to complete drawings by using only the tools provided. And once they're done, they can share their drawings, view others' artwork and more...

Evasi0n 1.2 is out, disables OTA updates and fixes timezone bug

The evad3rs have sure been busy this week. On Monday they released version 1.0 of their jailbreak utility, and on Wednesday they rolled out version 1.1 with fixes for the Weather app and long reboot bugs.

Today, they've posted a second update to evasi0n, bringing it to version 1.2. The new update features built-in code to disable future OTA updates on your jailbroken device, and a fix for the timezone issue...

Hackers still have exploits for use in future jailbreaks

On Wednesday, Apple seeded the first beta of iOS 6.1.1 to developers. It came just a few days after evasi0n was released to the public, so it was widely assumed that it had something to do with patching the new jailbreak.

Pod2g has since squashed the theory, at least for now, reporting that the beta doesn't mess with any of their exploits. But as it turns out, it wouldn't matter if it did, because the evad3rs still have several of them in reserve...

iPhone 5S and 5-inch iPhone 6 reportedly spotted at Apple supplier

The rumor mill has been on fire over the past 2 months with talk of Apple's next-generation handsets. And so far there's been 3 recurring theories: an iPhone 5S, a 'budget' iPhone for emerging markets, and an iPhone 6 with a larger 4.9-inch display.

Well today we're adding another point for the first and last theories. A new report out of China claims that both a familiar-looking iPhone 5S, and an all new iPhone 6 with a near-5-inch display have been spotted in one of Apple's supplier factories...

Tamagotchi attempts comeback in upcoming iOS app

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past 10 years, chances are you know what a Tamagotchi is. The digital-pet-on-a-keychain was released by video game-maker Bandai in 1996, and has since sold more than 76 million units.

The fad, however, like an unfed digital pet, has passed away in recent years. But it looks like the popular toy is getting ready to make a comeback. Bandai has announced its upcoming title for iOS and Android called Tamagotchi L.i.f.e...

Apple hires OLED expert from LG Display

Amidst growing rumors of Apple working on a larger-screened iPhone and a full-sized TV set, comes news today that the Cupertino company has hired a high-profile executive to join its prestigious Display group.

His name is Dr. Jeung Jil Lee, and he's a former senior OLED (organic light-emitting diode) expert from LG Display. The hiring reignites speculation that Apple is considering using the display tech in its products...

Springtomize 2 updated with iPhone 5 support and several bug fixes

When the evasi0n website went live Monday morning, I wasted no time jailbreaking my iPhone 5. I had convinced myself that I didn't miss my tweaks very much, but as soon as I was able to, I started downloading them.

The first one I grabbed—and it's one of only a few I have installed—is Filippo Bigarella's Springtomize 2. It's probably one of the most full-featured tweaks available, and it just got updated with full support for the iPhone 5...

Pod2g: iOS 6.1.1 beta does not fix latest jailbreak

This is pretty interesting. Pod2g just announced that the new iOS 6.1.1 beta that Apple seeded to developers yesterday does not actually patch the exploits used in the latest jailbreak.

The beta came just a week after Apple rolled out iOS 6.1 to the public, and two days after the release of evasi0n, so it was assumed that the two were related. But that may not be the case...
