There are now 1 million apps available in the US App Store

During its October iPad event, Apple announced that it had crossed the 1 million app milestone in its worldwide App Store. This meant that, not counting duplicates, it had over 1 million apps available around the globe at that time.

This week, Apple passed the same milestone here in its US App Store. According to data from app discovery firm Appsfire, there are now more than 1 million live apps in the App Store. 1,006,557 to be exact at the time of this writing...

Bing for iPad updated with new iOS 7 design, SkyDrive bookmarks and more

Microsoft has posted a significant update for Bing for iPad this evening, bringing the app to version 2.0. The update includes a number of improvements, including an all-new design for iOS 7 and new SkyDrive bookmarks.

Apple now selling 4K Sharp displays in its European web stores

Apple has begun offering a 32-inch Sharp Ultra HD LED monitor in its European web stores. The 4K monitor, which retails for £3,499.00 (or roughly $5,700 USD), has been available since November, but this is the first we've heard of Apple selling it.

The display uses Sharp's IGZO technology (Indium gallium zinc oxide) and has a resolution of 3840 x 2160. It offers a 1.07 billion color palette, an 800:1 contrast ratio, and comes with DisplayPort support (though it doesn't include the Mini DP adapter)...

Spotify reportedly planning to introduce free mobile music service

Spotify is reportedly planning to launch a free mobile music service. According to a new report by The Wall Street Journal, the Sweden-based company has reached licensing deals with all three of the global music companies to use their recordings.

Verizon wins approval for $130 billion purchase of Vodafone’s stake in VZW

Back in September, Verizon announced that it had reached an agreement with Vodafone to purchase its 45% stake in Verizon Wireless. The carrier, which was founded in April of 2000, has thus far been a joint venture between the two companies.

Some users finding Touch ID’s accuracy fades with time

Over the past several weeks, I've noticed that the accuracy of the Touch ID feature on my iPhone 5s has been slowly getting worse. Where the sensor used to recognize my registered fingerprint(s) almost instantly, it now takes two or three tries.

And it looks like I'm not the only one with this issue. A number of users have come forward reporting similar accuracy problems, and of course there's [several] lengthy Apple support threads full of folks complaining. So, is Touch ID going bad?
