T-Mobile announces ‘Lifetime Coverage Guarantee,’ new iPhone 6s promo

Following Apple's major iPhone 6s event yesterday, T-Mobile on Thursday made some big announcements of its own. In both a YouTube monologue and press release, company CEO John Legere introduced a new 'Lifetime Coverage Guarantee' and iPhone 6s program.

As its name suggests, the Lifetime Coverage Guarantee essentially ensures your happiness with T-Mobile's network. The offer says that if at any point you aren't completely satisfied with the service on your iPhone 6s, you'll get a refund for up to a full month of service.

Infinity Blade III goes free as Apple’s App of the Week

Heads up gamers, Apple has just named "Infinity Blade III" its App of the Week for this week. This means that from now through next Thursday, you'll be able to download Chair's epic blockbuster slasher for free on both iPhone and iPad—saving you $6.99.

As the third and final installment in the brilliant Infinity Blade franchise, this game really needs no introduction. Playing as either Siris or Isa, you are tasked with exploring beautiful dynamic 3D worlds, picking up items and slashing enemies along the way.

Paper by FiftyThree updated with iPhone support, new notes feature and more

Popular sketch app Paper, by FiftyThree, received an enormous update today, bringing the software to version 3.0. As expected, the new release brings about iPhone support, as well as several other new features like swipe-to-style notes and annotation tools.

Once seen as a casual sketch app, Paper now seems more like a catch-all brainstorming and note-taking app in version 3. It allows you to capture images, draw on them using the built-in tools, add custom text, and then share your creation in a variety of ways.

Apple seeds iOS 9.1 beta 1 to public testers

Following the release of iOS 9.1 beta 1 to developers, Apple on Thursday seeded the first beta of iOS 9.1 to public testers. The software is available either over-the-air, for those running the latest iOS 9 beta, or via Apple's Beta Software Program website.

As announced yesterday, iOS 9.1 will bring about new features for the just-announced iPad Pro, such as support for Apple's new Smart Keyboard and Pencil accessories. The update also includes support for Unicode 8, which will add several new emoji.

By now you probably feel like you know everything there is to know about Apple's new iPhone, Apple TV and iPad Pro, but thus far, you've only seen the devices from either afar or in marketing materials. Sure, all products look good in staged or rendered settings, but what are they like in real life?

Meet Nimbus, the first gamepad designed specifically for the new Apple TV

SteelSeries and Apple on Wednesday announced the Nimbus, the first gamepad designed specifically for the new Apple TV. It's unclear how much Apple was involved in the development of the controller, but the company is highlighting it on its website and there does seem to be an above-average level of cooperation here.

For starters, the Nimbus features a Lightning port for revitalizing its internal battery, which SteelSeries says will provide gamers with more than 40 hours of gaming per charge. It also has an extra large Menu button, similar to the one found on the new Apple TV remote, which could allow users to navigate around the new tvOS.

If you want a gold iPhone, you’ll have to buy the iPhone 6s

If you're in the market for a new iPhone, and prefer the color gold, you're going to have to spring for the new iPhone 6s (or its larger sibling). The gold version of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus disappeared from Apple's website this afternoon, and the company has confirmed with The Verge that its older handsets are no longer available in the color.

In addition to the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, Apple on Wednesday announced new accessories for its next-generation handsets. The products didn't get much stage time, but listed on Apple's website are a new Lightning dock, leather and silicon cases, in new colorways.

The new dock is very similar to the one Apple announced in May, except now it's available in iPhone-matching colors Gold, Rose Gold, Space Gray and Silver. It's compatible with all late-model iPhones and iPod touches, and will be available for online order today for $49.

Alongside its new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, Apple on Wednesday announced the iPhone Upgrade Program. It's an in-house upgrade program, similar to the installment plans carriers offer, which allows you to get a new iPhone every year for a monthly fee.

Apple brings your photos to life with Live Photos

During the iPhone 6s section of today's Apple event, Apple SVP Phil Schiller announced an incredible new feature called Live Photos. As the name suggests, Live Photos will essentially bring your photos to life by capturing small snippets (1.5 seconds) of video right before and after you take a photo.

You'll be able to view the Live Photos on your iPhone 6s by activating 3D Touch, and Apple says playback will be available on Photos in El Capitan on the Mac, iPhone, iPad, and even Apple Watch. And since they're not technically videos, it claims they don't take up much more space than photographs.
