Apple on Wednesday shared a new iPhone 6s ad on its YouTube page called 'Timer.' The spot stars the popular Sesame Street character Cookie Monster, and is set in a kitchen where he is baking—you guessed it—cookies.

With a humorous tone, the commercial demonstrates the hands-free 'Hey Siri' feature on Apple's iPhone 6s. Cookie Monster uses it to accomplish a variety of tasks, including setting a kitchen timer and playing a music playlist.

Apple shifting some of its iCloud services to Google’s Cloud Platform

Apple has signed a deal with Google to use the search giant's Cloud Platform for some of its iCloud services, reports CRN. The site says that the two firms inked the deal late last year, and it's believed to be worth somewhere between $400-$600 million.

This is a major coup for Google’s enterprise cloud business, and its newly appointed chief Diane Greene. Although Apple has not publicly discussed its cloud backends, it's been reported that the iPhone maker spends $1 billion per year on Amazon's AWS.

Instagram is changing its feed order to show you posts you’ll care about first

Instagram announced on Tuesday that it plans to change the way that it orders posts in user feeds. Instead of showing photos and videos in the order that they were uploaded, the social network is going to implement an algorithm to surface the most relevant content.

Obviously, Facebook has been doing this for years with News Feeds, and Twitter recently launched a similar feature for Timelines. The concept is that users are being pushed so much information on a daily basis, that they need someone to sift through the noise for them.

Apple approves f.lux-like app ‘FlexBright’ [u]

Apple has approved a new app called FlexBright, which allows you to manually adjust the display temperature of your iPhone or iPad. That makes this one of the first third-party apps to make it into the App Store that provides a feature similar to iOS 9.3's Night Shift mode.

It's interesting that Apple would green-light a title like FlexBright, given its history. For those who aren't familiar with the story, last fall the iPhone-maker asked the developers of f.lux—a long-running app with similar functionality to FlexBright—to shutdown their iOS work.

Update: the app has been pulled from the App Store. The developer mentioned on Twitter that Apple hasn't provided any reason for removing the app.
