Apple is slated to make an appearance at the 2017 Mobile World Congress, reports MacRumors. The site points to a page (which has since been pulled) on the MWC website, which shows the company has booked exhibitor space for the event.
This is significant for a few reasons. For one, Mobile World Congress is the world's largest exhibition and conference for the mobile industry. And two, Apple's been absent from most major trade shows and conferences since the early 2000's.
Report: Apple planning to hold new Mac event October 27
Apple will introduce new Macs at an event on October 27, reports Recode. Citing sources familiar with the company's plans, the outlet says that the event will likely take place at or near Apple's Cupertino campus, rather than its typical venue in San Francisco.
Recode doesn't specify exactly which Mac products we'll see, but most of Apple's laptop and desktop lines are due for an update. A report from Japanese blog Mac Otakara yesterday called for new 13" and 15" MacBook Pro models, and a refreshed 13-inch Air.
Report: new MacBook Pros, USB-C MacBook Airs coming this month
New MacBook Pros are still on for October, reports the often accurate Japanese site Mac Otakara. Citing a reliable source within Apple's supply chain, the outlet says the long-awaited refresh of the premium notebook line is still on schedule for this month.
In addition to the MacBook pro update, the site also says that the MacBook Air line is also getting a refresh. It expects Apple to drop the 11-inch model, to focus on the larger 13-inch version, and it will include USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 ports.

Tim Cook: augmented reality is ‘profound,’ will take time to get right
Apple CEO Tim Cook once again sings the praises of augmented reality in a new interview with BuzzFeed News. Cook tells the outlet that his team is "high on AR in the long run" and he believes the technology can be "huge."
His latest comments echo those from previous interviews, including one from August with The Washington Post. He said at that time that Apple is very bullish on AR and is doing a lot of things with the tech behind the curtain.
SIM-free iPhone 7 now available in Apple’s online store
Heads up to those of you who have been waiting for SIM-free iPhone 7 and 7 Plus models to come available. You can now buy the unlocked handsets on Apple's website, starting at $650 and $770, respectively.
While you could previously buy the iPhone 7 at full retail, it had to be tied to a carrier. These new models, as the name suggests, come without a SIM card, meaning they can be active with any carrier at a later time.

Apple late Wednesday night posted a new commercial to its YouTube channel titled "Explore the All-New Apple Music." The ad showcases the company's revamped streaming music service, spotlighting several of its features.
It works essentially as an overview of the iOS 10 Music app, demonstrating how you can build your own personal music library based on custom recommendations and new content discovered via Apple's Beats 1 Radio station.
Waterproof cases for iPhone 7
The new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are "water resistant" (though Apple's warranty doesn't cover liquid damage), and that's fine for accidental spills and splashes, but it's not good enough protection for taking pictures in the pool. For that, you're going to want a waterproof case.
Since the iPhone 7 is still rather new, there aren't a ton of waterproof cases available for it just yet—popular accessory-maker Lifeproof still says 'Coming Soon' on its website—but we were able to put together a list of some solid options based on feedback and features.
